Private Job is a multiplayer mode in Splatoon 3. Private Jobs allow 2-4 players to participate in customized Salmon Run Next Wave matches. It was made available in Splatoon 3 in 2.0.0. Similar to Private Battles, Private Job shifts do not affect player rank, nor do they grant rewards.

Description

Private Jobs can have two to four players, and can be joined by players on the host's friend list or in the same pool. When creating a room, the host has the option to enable voice chat through the Nintendo Switch Online app, and to set a password to prevent uninvited players from joining.

The host of a Private Job can customize the shift's scenario, Stage, and Hazard Level from the Match Menu. A scenario must be saved at the Terminal before it can be used in a Private Job. The Hazard level can be set to values in increments of 5, beginning at 5% and capping at 200%. Once the host has confirmed the work crew and shift settings, players can freely change their equipped weapon via the box next to the Grizzco Terminal. If players select the random weapon option, they will be loaned a different weapon at the start of each wave, otherwise they will keep the weapon they chose for every wave. Rare weapons are not available during Private Jobs, nor can they be loaned when choosing the random option.

After clearing a shift without using a scenario, the host will get the option to start another with an increased hazard level or return to the Private Job lobby. After clearing a scenario shift, continuing will replay the same scenario.

Job scenarios

Job scenarios were added in 2.0.0 contain the weapons, Boss and lesser Salmonid spawns, Wave types, and Hazard Level data of a single shift played in Freelance mode, allowing players to replay the exact same shift through Private Jobs. Players can save Job Scenarios via the Grizzco Terminal, which displays up to 50 previous jobs at a time. Scenarios from events, such as Big Run or Eggstra Work, cannot be saved. Scenarios from older versions of the game may become incompatible.

The player's highest Golden Egg score for a saved job scenario is visible in the Match Menu as well as the Terminal.

Quotes

SRL HR division here! The Grizzco terminal now lets you save set combos of stages, Salmonid enemies, special conditions, and more for single shifts as "job scenarios." Replay job scenarios as Private Jobs as many times as you want. Repetition is the key to mastery!
