Drizzlers are Boss Salmonids that appear in Salmon Run in Splatoon 2.

Description

They use their umbrellas to fly around the map. Once they find a spot, they plop down, and use their umbrella as a shield. While like this, the Drizzler fires a missile into the air that rains down ink on nearby areas like the Ink Storm. The recoil from their weapons causes Drizzlers to flip upside-down after firing, leaving themselves vulnerable; they can also be hit from below as they drift from one location to another. The missiles themselves can also be reflected if shot at, which will defeat it instantly if they connect with the Drizzler itself.

In-Game Information

Basic Information

  • A flying fighter specialising in surprise attacks.
  • Covered in armour that renders it basically impervious to ink.

Attack Behavior

  • Fires mid-range attacks using special projectiles.
  • These projectiles explode into a shower of ink.

Elimination

  • It is susceptible to attack immediately after it fires.
  • With good timing, it's possible to reflect the shot and hit the Drizzler with its own projectile, taking it down in one go.

Supporting Information

  • The ranks of the Drizzlers are made up by renegade Salmonid who prefer to go it alone and fight on their own terms.
  • Well-protected against ink by unusual umbrella-like armour.
  • The immense recoil from discharging its weapon temporarily exposes the Salmonid within its armour.

Tips

  • Players can determine where the Drizzler will fire its Ink Storm by observing where its scope points.
    • In order to deflect the Ink Storm back at the Drizzler, players need to move so that the Ink Storm projectile is between them and the Drizzler. Otherwise, it will not hit the Drizzler. So, players should move where they see the Drizzler pointing its scope.
  • Deflecting the Ink Storm has 2 stages, once the Drizzler fires the Ink Storm, it will have a metal casing around it. Shooting the metal casing causes the Ink Storm to directly reflect back to the Drizzler, easily eliminating them.
    • Most of the time though, this metal casing will disappear and you will only destroy the Ink Storm.
  • Sting Ray penetrates Drizzler armor.
  • While the boss is jumping, you can shoot beneath the boss to damage it. This is a small window, so you may want to focus on other things.
