Legwear is an item of clothing worn by Inklings and Octolings. Unlike gear, legwear is entirely aesthetic, having no gameplay effect. In Splatoon, all Inklings have the same legwear, while in Splatoon 2 and Splatoon 3, legwear can be changed as a player customization option.
Splatoon
In Splatoon, legwear is not changeable. All Inklings wear black shorts with a stripe of the wearer's ink color on either side. The male Inklings' shorts are slightly longer than the females' and go down to their knees.
There are three pieces of clothing that, when worn, replace the normal legwear with unique legwear. These are the SQUID GIRL Tunic, School Uniform, and Samurai Jacket.

Splatoon 3
In Splatoon 3, legwear customization from Splatoon 2 returns. Like with hairstyles, any legwear option can now be selected regardless of the player's gender. There is also one known new legwear option.
