Octoweaponry is a song performed by Turquoise October.

Description

Octoweaponry, like many Turquoise October songs, is an electronic song, featuring many chiptune influences and Octarian-sounding vocals, such as a repeating "yeah" vocal. It also contains a sound effect partway in that resembles a phoneline soon after the thirty second mark. Around the 32 second mark, some orchestral horns and chorus are heard. It plays during the third and final phase of any fight with a Great Octoweapon, in the missions The Mighty Octostomp!, The Dreaded Octonozzle!, The Rampaging Octowhirl! and The Ravenous Octomaw!, and can also be heard in Squid Beatz. It was replaced by Octarmaments as the new boss battle music in Splatoon 2.

Other versions

Octoweaponry (Phase 1)

A very sparse version that leaves just the main instrumental with no "yeah" vocals, guitar strum or some of the sound effects, for a less intense version of the original. It plays during the first phase of the boss fight, until the player damages the boss enough, and advances to phase 2.

Octoweaponry (Phase 2)

Nearly identical to the original, with only the light background guitar strum missing. It plays during the second phase of the boss fight, until the player damages the boss enough, and advances to phase 3.

Octoweaponry (Phase 2)

In Splatune, a medley of the three versions is included instead. The "Phase 1" version is played until 0:55, when it switches to the "Phase 2" version. This plays until 1:47, when it switches to the standard variant for the rest of the song.

This is also the version used in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It has a chance of playing on Moray Towers, and can also be heard in the Sounds section in the Vault menu.

Etymology

Octoling Rendezvous refers to a meeting with an Octoling, although in a much more polite situation than what actually occurs in-game.
