Oh hello there.

You might want to know that your message is a bit on the broken side. Attempting to hit either of the 'reply' buttons on it causes a popup to appear saying The "reply" link cannot be used to reply to this comment. To reply, please use the full page editor by clicking "Edit source"..

I think it might be because your signature appears twice in that message of yours, completely breaking the 'reply' button(s). idk. Probably try replacing the first instance of your signature with a 3-tilde version instead of a 4-tilde version, see if that fixes the problem.

Also I'd suggest making sure there's definitely no mentions of that 'Chrome Wolf' fellow in your reply as well (seeing as the 'Create your user page' link in your response was a link to Chrome Wolf's userpage, not my user page), should help to save other people from having an identity crisis/save Chrome Wolf from becoming a victim of identity theft.

Don't worry, it's cool. I've done enough wikipedia-ing (or whatever the verb is) in my time to know how to wrestle the 'edit source' button (especially in unpleasant environments for the 'edit source' button, such as talk pages).

Anywho, glad you like my bodged-together signature. It also kinda taught me the hard way that 'hmm, perhaps this overly long username might not have been the best idea' (and I can't really turn it into a mildly-amusing visual gag like my wikipedia signature), but, thanks to you, I've borrowed that 'using a template as a signature' workaround of yours to help make my signature a bit more readable whilst staying in the maximum signature length :^). cba to change my username to something more managable, especially with that problem now being a complete non-issue, thanks to you :)

External web linking templates

For external website linking templates in general, I discourage making templates like Template:Youtube, because we already have the Template:Cite web template for clean and consistent external citation link format. If any enhancement is needed, it could be added to the Cite web template. Youtube links should be placed into Cite web, or simply use normal MediaWiki link syntax. By using what the wiki already has, this reduces unnecessary confusion, as people should not have to deal with one wiki using a different format from the common syntax.

The decision is up to you on whether to do nothing, or use Template:Cite web, or enhance Template:Cite web, or maybe even create a new cite template like "Cite video"... my point is simply that Template:Youtube (and Template:Twitter) are missing features that Template:Cite web has, and people are not going to appreciate a whole template that just links to ONE website even if it's Youtube.

Also, just a heads up regarding Twitter, due to changes to Twitter we are no longer linking to Twitter. Instead, we are archiving tweets to Inkipedia Twitter archive, then replacing Twitter links with links to the Inkipedia archive. Thank you! Heddy (talk) 01:25, 1 August 2023 (UTC)

@Heddy apologies for the late response, I've taken the feedback on board.

The intent for these templates was to cut down on the need to manually put them in MediaWiki link syntax and incorporate the and things when trying to cite the thing in question (a la https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Cite_tweet)

I have now refactored Template:Youtube to be a wrapper for Template:Cite web, automatically translating the video ID into the URL, and inserting the automatically into the title, and also allowing the other cite-web parameters to be set manually.

I probably won't be able to refactor Template:Tweet to redirect to the twitter archive, so I've marked the template itself as deprecated (granted, it doesn't look like there's a tag I can use to mark it as such), and I'll try to create a new template for citing the twitter archive directly. Hello, it seems that yesterday you have marked four files for deletion due to reuploading them from an IGN source. While having a png file is better than having a webp file... in-game screenshots are natively jpg and are not intended to be replaced with png equivalents. When it comes to the two jpg files you've flagged for deletion, I ask that you please undo your page edits linked to them and remove their deletion notices, and I'll provide screenshots of my own to update their sources. Etymologies

Hey, thanks for adding some etymology details to Bamboozler 14 Mk I; I wish I had realized sooner that we didn't already have any!

I just want to say though, rather than putting etymology explanations in trivia, we ideally really want to aim to create new etymology sections, or add to existing ones if applicable. Trivia should really only be for details that can't realistically fit elsewhere on the page; etymology info is actually listed as a specific example of one of the things to move out of trivia on the trivia policy page. I went ahead and created a new etymology section on the Bamboozler page and added some more detail to it, so this is just a heads-up for if you find yourself wanting to work on these sorts of details on other pages in the future.
