Mem cakes.

Mem cakes are collectibles in Octo Expansion.

Description

Mem cakes are small items modeled after objects and characters from the world of Splatoon. They are said to be physical manifestations of Agent 8's lost memories, and can be obtained as rewards for completing stages. A status screen shows that there are 80 of them, corresponding with the 80 stages in the expansion. Examples shown are:

• Judd and Li'l Judd
• An Octotrooper
• A squid
• A Chum
• A White Tee
• An Inkling girl
• An unidentified brand logo resembling a clam (also seen in some stages)
• A Splattershot
• Jelfonzo
• A square with a face, possibly a logo.

Trivia

• The mem cakes resemble erasers, specifically the kind that are shaped to look like certain things. This could be a reference to the fact that Agent 8's memories have been "erased" (whether or not they were deliberately erased is unknown).
