Fresh Squiffer
“ | The new and improved Fresh Squiffer is a Classic Squiffer retooled to allow a different approach. Pairing Suction Bombs with the Squiffer makes it even easier to get the upper hand in battle, and you can quickly turn the tables on foes with the Kraken! Definitely not a set for squids who are afraid to get their tentacles dirty! | ” |
The Fresh Squiffer is a Charger in Splatoon, first announced during the Nintendo Direct on March 3, 2016. It is one of eight weapons included in Sheldon's Picks Vol. 1 and was released at Template:UTC on April 13.[2]
Description
The Fresh Squiffer is a recolored New Squiffer, keeping the red and yellow starburst sticker, with a different Sub and Special Weapon. Its Suction Bombs and Kraken allow the user a more aggressive play style in contrast to the New and Classic Squiffer's defensive and supportive styles.

Sheldon's Introduction
"The new and improved Fresh Squiffer is a Classic Squiffer retooled to allow a different approach. If your foes are laying low, Suction Bombs will let you easily smoke them out from wherever they're cowering. But if they're going on the offensive instead, no need to worry! Turn the tables on them with the Kraken!

Competitive Viability
Even as arguably the best squiffer in the game, the Fresh Squiffer is still quite the challenge to use in a competitive game. The weapon struggles from not being able to get kills from a distance like a normal charger, and must get up close and personal. The problem with this is perfect aim is required for this to work, and even then squiffers can get overwhelmed easily. It would be inhuman for one to be so perfect under that pressure. The Suction Bomb sub is nice for pressuring opponents into areas that make shots easier, and the great Kraken is always a huge plus, but otherwise it still struggles to do well in competitive play.
