Splatoon 2 Global Testfire

The Splatoon 2 Global Testfire was a free Splatoon 2 demo available on the Nintendo eShop and was the successor to the Splatoon Global Testfire. It allowed players to engage in free four-versus-four Turf War at scheduled times ahead of the release of the game. It was available for download before the scheduled times, but server connection was not possible beforehand.

Description

During the Global Testfire, players were able to enter online matches of Turf War and use either the Splat Dualies, Splattershot, Splat Roller, or Splat Charger. Playable stages included The Reef and Musselforge Fitness. The Inklings players were able to play as wore a preset of different outfits that are from the same ones on promotional images and renders; regardless on which Inkling you play as, they all have Ink Recovery Up, Quick Respawn, and Special Saver.

All the Inklings that the player can play as are:

• An Inkling girl with short tentacles, standard shorts and magenta eyes. She wears the Fake Contacts, White King Tank, and Mint Dakroniks.
• An Inkling boy with slicked back tentacles, shorts with tights and green eyes. He wears the Squidfin Hook Cans, Black V-neck Tee, and Yellow-Mesh Sneakers.
• An Inkling boy with the sidecut and ponytail tentacles, drawstring shorts and brown eyes. He wears the Half-Rim Glasses, Hula Punk Shirt, and Pirahna Mawcassins.
• An Inkling girl with side swept tentacles, a skirt with shorts, and green eyes. She wears Knitted Hat, Shirt with Blue Hoodie, and Smoky Wingtips.
• An Inkling boy with the same ponytail tentacles and shorts from the first game and blue eyes. He wears the Bucket Hat, Matcha Down Jacket, and Black Dakroniks.
• An Inkling girl with the same hairstyle from the first game, standard shorts and brown eyes. She wears the Hockey Helmet, Inkopolis Squaps Jersey, and the Canary Trainers.
• An Inkling boy with the shaved hairstyle, drawstring shorts, and blue eyes. He wears the Takoroka Visor, Takoroka Windcrusher, and Neon Delta Straps.
• An Inkling girl with the bun hairstyle, a skirt and shorts, and magenta eyes. She wears the Painter's Mask, Pink Easy-Stripe Shirt, and Hunting Boots.

Trivia

• Players were able to start log on to the Global Testfire as early as 5 minutes before the scheduled time. Some players were also able to get into matches a few minutes after the designated end time.
• This demo was localized into Russian and Dutch, a first in the series.
