The Splatoon 2 Special Demo 2020 was a free Splatoon 2 demo available on the Nintendo eShop, and the successor to the Splatoon 2 Special Demo. Similar to previous Splatoon 2 demos, it allowed players to engage in free four-on-four Turf War with other players who own the full game, with additions of Salmon Run and Ranked Battle, at scheduled times. Players who downloaded the demo received a seven-day free trial for Nintendo Switch Online. The demo was playable between 30 April 2020 and 6 May 2020 at varying times depending on the region. In addition, the full game was available at a discounted price on Nintendo eShop during the duration of the Special Demo 2020.[1][2]
Description
This demo is identical to the full game, barring access to single-player modes and The Shoal. Entering these modes prompts the player to purchase the full game from the Nintendo eShop. Players can access full game features like the Galleria to purchase clothing and weapons. Progress from the Special Demo 2020 can be transferred to the full game.
