- E-Litist has a point here. I'm familiar with Cockney speak myself (because I've spent nearly my entire life in the presence of Cockneys) but who was the first person to figure out? Also, where is this conversation going? We went from Spyke's page having to resources to a discussion about Cockneys xD
- We try to have as many references as possible - if you find a source for something in a page, put it in. However, there is stuff for which there aren't any sources available, it's too basic to need a source, etc., so some pages might not have any. :/ --Bzeep! talk 18:55, 11 June 2016 (UTC)
I mean I could tell by his speech that he was a Cockney (literally 70% of the people I've met on my mother's side of my family is a Cockney) but sure enough I wasn't the first person ever to meet Spyke so IDK. A page doesn't necessarily need references listed, especially if most info is common knowledge or from the game itself. I don't think we can easily source the discovery of the cockney accent either.

There are some good points here, really I don't think Spyke would have any resources other than the Nintendo Direct and whatever other stuff Nintendo put out before the game's release. Anything else is either really hard to find or not official :/

Am I seeing things or does Spyke have 2 layers of eyelids
I mean, you have the normal blinking animation of the orange eyelid (basically his skin w/ a dark line under it). I have a picture of that eyelid, but I was trying to take the same picture again. And in a certain frame, you see a dark purple glossy-looking eyelid. I had a picture of that (but immediately went back to the game as it's a little disturbing).
Just wanted to know if anyone else saw this, as it's the first time I've seen it. And yes, I know this is a bit of a random topic. e.e SPBOnion (talk) 22:41, 3 August 2016 (UTC)

It may have been an edited picture, but I think that old entry in this page about his eyelids being dark and shiny may be his inner eyelids. Yup! It's not edited at all. The picture that got removed in the "Spyke's eyelids aren't dark while blinking" isn't edited. It's just Spyke's inner purple eyelids. Gonna wait for someone more experienced with this wiki to tell us what to do about it before adding it back. The E-Litist 20:26, 4 August 2016 (UTC)

YES. All the other names are funny little puns of their species or whatnot. ANNIE-MOE-ne, Crusty Sean = Crustacean, SHELLdon, JELonzo... Even I wouldn't have thought of "Callie" and "Marie" for making two female names out of the word "Calamari".
But Spyke tho. They literally just took 'Spike' and replaced the "I" with a "Y". I bet a 5 year old would come up with that name if you gave it a picture of Spyke and said "What should we name this character?"
I love Spyke to death. His character design, the 'literal street urchin' thing... every other part of him was cleverly done. Just, his name. I mean, it suits him well, and he definitely does look like a Spyke... but... I don't think the guys over at Nintendo spent very long thinking of his name.
