Squee-G

Squee-G, also known as Suckerfish in Splatoon^(EU/OC), are Octarian-made machines that appear in Octo Valley and Octo Canyon. They cannot harm the player, instead serving to hinder progress by removing their ink.

Description

Squee-Gs are small, fish-like robots attached to a surface, either on the ground or a wall. When this surface is Inked, they automatically move to clean it up while making squeaking sounds. They cannot be destroyed, but are momentarily slowed down when shot at or stood on. Their eyes, fins, and mouths are a light teal when idle and turn yellow when they spot Ink.

Pickups such as Power Eggs or Armor can sometimes be found on their backs.

Appearances

• Squee-Gs were first introduced in Lair of the Octoballs.
• Just before going into the Ink trail in Unidentified Flying Object, there's are 2 Squee-G's randomly placed on a wall which carries a Power Egg on it's back. There are 2 more Squee-g's in Checkpoint 5.
• Squee-Gs later appeared in Inkvisible Avenues, cleaning Ink off of a vertical platform.
• Squee-Gs also appeared in Octosniper Ramparts.

Trivia

• Squee-Gs can clean up Octarian ink as well as that of the player.

Etymology

"Squee-G", is derived from the surface cleaning tool squeegee.

"Suckerfish", comes from the robot's Ink-sucking ability as well as real-life suckerfish.
