Squid Beakon
Template:Infobox weapon The Squid Beakon is a Sub Weapon in Splatoon.
Description
After being placed by an Inkling, other Inklings on the same team will be able to Super Jump to the placed Beakon. When an Inkling from an opposing team shoots the other team's Beakon, or when the Beakon has been used once, it will be destroyed and no longer available for use. Up to three Beakons can be placed down at any one time. If the user attempts to place another Beakon after three have already been placed, the new Beakon will be placed but the earliest active Beakon will be destroyed.

Simply select one of these icons to initiate a Super Jump toward the selected Beakon. Once a player lands on a Squid Beakon, it explodes—so don’t be stingy with these things. Keep deploying more Squid Beakons to give your team an advantage. For best results, place Squid Beakons in safe areas near the center of a stage. This gives your team quick access to hotly contested areas like Splat Zones. The GamePad’s map also shows enemy Squid Beakons. Use this intel to hunt down the enemy’s Squid Beakons—they can be destroyed by shooting them. Or simply camp an enemy Squid Beakon and ambush an opponent as they jump into view. Each player can place up to three Squid Beakons on a stage at a time. Tips
- Try to place the Beakons in advantageous places that enemies won't reach.
- If done correctly, a player can use the Beakons as bait during ranked battles. When the enemy comes to destroy it, the player could ambush him.
- Spray some ink around and beneath the Beakon, so any arriving player can hide immediately.
- If you found a good spot, place a new Beakon the moment you use one.
- It is possible to use Beakons as short weak sheilds to protect yourself and give your teammates a place to super jump.

Trivia
- The Squid Beakon used to only be available with one weapon, the Krak-On Splat Roller, which made it the rarest Sub Weapon at the launch of Splatoon.
- The Squid Beakon is also visible on the GamePad map to the opposing team.
- The name is a play on words between a beacon and a squid's beak.
