A QR code is a square black and white image that is designed to be scanned in order to visit websites, learn details about products, and more. In Splatoon 3, players can receive in-game content through scanning special QR codes via the QR Code Reader in SplatNet 3.

For the release of Splatoon 3 on 9 September 2022, the official @SplatoonJP Twitter account posted the first special QR code. By scanning it, players were awarded a special Splashtag banner.[1]

The second QR code, released on 8 October 2022, was distributed in commemoration of Splatoon 3's appearance at Nintendo Live 2022 and the associated Deep Cut Concert at Nintendo Live 2022, and featured a Nintendo Live and Deep Cut-themed banner design.[2]
