Template:InfoboxCharacter Mr. Grizz is a character in Splatoon 2.

Appearance

Mr. Grizz speaks through a fishing bear statue with a radio antenna attached to it. His true appearance remains unknown.

Description

Mr. Grizz is the owner of Grizzco. He has the responsibility of training, coaching, and supervising his employees.

When the player enters Salmon Run for the first time, he greets the player and gives them two tutorials before they can play the mode online, showcasing how to defeat each Boss Salmonid (excluding Griller and Mothership).

Mr. Grizz supplies the player with advice on how to handle each event when one occurs in game, along with congratulating the player after each round and how well (or not-so-well) the player has done at the end of a match.

Quotes

English

When entering Grizzco for the first time:

  • "Hey, kid. How'd ya like to shape the future of Inkopolis? Welcome to Grizzco Industries. I'm Mr. Grizz. Here at Grizzco, we're tryin' to make the world a better place, see? And we need fresh young talent to do it. Yeah, it's just your run-of-the-mill, manual-labor type of work, but's for a good cause, and we pay well. So whaddaya say, kid? The next training boat is headin' out now. You ready to be part of somethin' bigger than yourself?"

Before the start of a wave:

  • "The egg basket is ready and waiting. Now go get me some Golden Eggs!"

During the start of a normal/high tide wave:

  • "You've got a Boss Salmonid incoming. DO YOUR JOB!"

During the start of a low tide wave:

  • "A school of Salmonids is gathering down at the shoreline. Group up and bring 'em down."

During the start of a Cohock Charge wave:

  • "There's a group of Cohocks down by the shoreline. I'll leave a cannon. You know what to do."

During the start of a fog wave:

  • "Looks like the fog's rolling in. Stay sharp. NO SLACKING!"

During the start of a fog wave with low tide:

  • "Smells liek a school of Salmonids have spawned by the shoreline. Curse this fog..."

During the start of a Mothership wave:

  • "A Mothership. You'll need to organize to bring it down. But don't even THINK about starting a union!"

During the start of a Mothership wave with low tide:

  • "You've got a Mothership down by the shore. You guys might want to coordinate if you want to survive."

During the Mothership wave, when the Mothership is moving towards the basket:

  • "MY EGG BASKET! Don't let those slimy Salmonids touch my eggs!"

During the Griller wave:

  • "Here comes a Griller... Aim for its exposed tail. That'll let your coworkers know where to shoot, too."
  • "Looks like you got 2 Grillers out there. Take them out before they barbecue your entire work crew."

During the start of a Rush wave:

  • "The Salmonids are restless. Oh, I see why - there are Glowflies here. Once they start glowing, buckle up."

During the start of a Goldie Seeking wave:

  • "I can feel it... The Gold One approaches! Find it and ink it until it drops its Golden Eggs!"

During the Goldie Seeking wave, when finding the Goldie:

  • "There's the Goldie! Take its eggs!"

During the Goldie Seeking wave, when the Goldie is hiding after finding it:

  • "That sneaky Goldie is hiding! Find it!"

After clearing wave 1 and 2:

  • "Come to papa, little eggs... NOW BRING ME MORE!"

After clearing wave 3:

  • "Well done. That's the last of 'em. Now get back to the boat."

During results, while meeting the quota (Profreshional):

  • "I gotta say - you might be the best employee I've ever had. A true profreshional."

During results, while meeting the quota (Apprentice - Overachiever. Rare in Profreshional):

  • "Let's see... You harvested (Insert Golden Egg count) Golden Eggs this time. Nice haul."

During results, when getting over 100 Golden Eggs and meeting the quota:

  • "WHAT A HAUL! The sea has blessed you with its bounty. I should think about givin' ya a raise.

During results, when having cleared a wave on Hazard level MAX and meeting the quota:

  • "NO WAY! You cleared a Hazard level MAX?! You are as lethal as the sea herself!"

During results, while not meeting the quota by timeout:

  • "TIME'S UP! Let's see how many Golden Eggs ya got. Just (Insert Golden Egg count)? That's a shame."

During results, while having a crew wipe:

  • "Ooh, crew wipe. Let's see how many Golden Eggs ya got. (Insert Golden Egg count)? Not terrible."

After the first quote during results, while meeting the quota:

  • "Now THAT'S the type of performance I'm looking for. You have a bright future here, kid. I'll put this on your bonus review."

After the first quote during results, if a rare weapon appeared during the run:

  • How'd ya like the fancy weapon, kid? That's one of my favorites.

After the first quote, while not meeting the quota/crew wipe during a Griller wave:

  • "Grillers use red lasers to aim at their prey. If you find yourself on the receiving end of the laser pointer, RUN."

After the first quote, while not meeting the quota/crew wipe during a Goldie Seeking wave:

  • "When a Goldie's in hiding, you're likely to find it in the Gusher that's giving off the most light. Or so they say..."

After the first quote, while not meeting the quota/crew wipe during a Fog wave:

  • "When fog descends, communicating with your team is a must. Rally your coworkers to your side with D-Pad!"

After the first quote, while not meeting the quota/crew wipe during a low tide wave:

  • "When the tide is low, your workspace is bigger. Head down to the shoreline and check it out."

After the first quote, while not meeting the quota/crew wipe during a high tide wave:

  • "Your workspace is smaller at high tide. Make sure you watch each other's backs."

After the first quote, while not meeting the quota/crew wipe during a normal/high tide wave:

  • "You can take out Maws in no time if you can get her to swallow a bomb. Just toss one at your toes right before the beast strikes."
  • "Scrappers rely on their armor and charge at you headfirst. Keep up your fire to stun 'em, then flank 'em once they're stunned."
  • "Each weapon has its strengths. For example, if a Steelhead shows up, you might want to lean on a coworker using a charger..."
  • "If you get swarmed by Glowflies, good luck staying alive. Once they're on you, every Salmonid around will be trying to splat you."
  • "Shoot a Drizzler's torpedoes to send 'em back where they came from. It's a surefire way to bring a Drizzler down in a snap."
  • "It's easy to forgeet about Stingers if they're not nearby, but I recommend you deal with 'em ASAP. Trust me on this, kid."
  • "When lobbing bombs at a Flyfish, press and hold R until the trajectory line appears. It'll help you aim better."
  • "Steel Eels pick a target and then chase it down. If you're the lucky Inkling, try luring it somewhere where your team can splat it."
  • "Salmonids tend to group up and come at ya from one direction. That direction is liable to change over time, though."
  • "Hiding from Salmonids in your own ink won't work. They've got a wicked sense of smell and can sniff out Inklings from a distance."
  • "Salmonids can't climb walls, so when you've got downtime, ink some escape routes instead of slacking off."

"Now that's the kind of work I've been looking for! A true Profreshional!"

"It may be hard to forget that the stinger was even there so make sure to knock them out first."

"Let's see how many eggs everyone collected. (Insert number of golden eggs) Not too bad."
