Possibly use tables?

Some users might not want all badges spoiled instantly, so maybe use tables so they can expand it so they don't see all of them. Kyden (talk) 21:41, 18 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I agree. The original section in the splashtags page had multiple tables. How come they weren't copied over? (definitely not upset about them being deleted) ÒwÓ (talk) 02:02, 19 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Details

I feel like there should be a place for details about badge obtaining, like the Marigold and Murch bits that are in Trivia currently, the fact that to get a win counted towards a Specials badge you actually need to use that special in the game, and what exactly constitutes towards a jackpot for the Shell-Out Machine badges (at the very least bronze capsules don't count as jackpots) Super EpicGuy (talk) 22:52, 30 November 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Definitely, plus i think the explanation for getting executive vp at certain stages is a bit confusing (atleast for me) LakePuddle 🗩 🖉 22:59, 30 November 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Not Fully Updated

So, I might be a bit of an obbsesnt when it comes to Tentatek, but there is actually enough gear to get 100+ stars of Tentatek gear. From what I have found, there is 24 pieces of Tentatek gear. EeveeBest11 (talk) 22:20, 4 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

How are badge totals counted?

As title states, I made a csv of all badges for a personal project, and counted 387. Is it every single badge, is the count wrong, or is it not including a certain set of badges?

Howl (talk) 02:44, 5 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I got 357 when I counted on the wiki. EeveeBest11 (talk) 02:13, 11 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
387 is the total current count and the page has been updated. Thank you for the notice!   Perfectionist   (talk) 11:37, 11 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
It's been once again outdated, there should be 426 but there's only 415 on the wiki Nickman1818 (talk) 04:43, 5 June 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Spatfest Tee

"If a player accumulates 30 and 100 stars for gear of a specific brand, they recieve a normal and golden badge respectively. Excluded are pieces of gear not featured in shops like the Splatfest Tee or amiibo-branded pieces of gear."

I have no proof, because I did not captured the moment, but the Splatfest Tee ist from SquidForce with two stars. While I had 28 stars in SquidForce, I got my Badge "Combined SquidForce Gear at 30+ Stars" as soon as I got my Splatfest Tee.

The Splatfest Tee is not excluded. :)

(Sorry, if this is not the right place for this informationen. I am new here and created an account for this info.) Matthew1990 (talk) 07:10, 29 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Murch + Spyke badges can't be cheated

i don't have proof of this as i was not recording, but it seems that the 100 order badges for Murch and Spyke can't be cheesed by spam ordering; i attempted both by replacing open orders with new ones and by cancelling all 3 order slots entirely before reordering. i'm not sure if it would be relevant to add to the article, or if this is common knowledge already, but it might be worth noting?

i don't know exactly what sort of counting mechanic the game uses, maybe there's a hard limit of 3 new orders per day, even if other orders are placed after those initial 3? i know an order doesn't need to be fulfilled to get the 10 order badge, so i was surprised to find they ostensibly still have a way to make sure you don't cheat it. Olisaurus (talk) 10:47, 24 October 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

We would definitely need to find out more exact details on this before adding it to the article; what we have re: the requirements for the urchin fellas' badges is already vague. Your theory of a hard limit of three being counted per day is simple enough to empirically test, even if it would take a bit. However, if I had to hazard a guess, I would assume that a filled order slot has to naturally empty (whether by buying or simply checking in and then letting the day roll over) before it's eligible to be counted again. Driftin Soul (talk) 17:51, 30 October 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
My gf got Spyke's badge and I didn't despite us doing the same thing every day:
  • Order a piece of gear in Inkopolis;
  • Check it with Spyke but not actually buy it.
signature Milchik (talk) 18:12, 30 October 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The mechanic used is pretty simple. It checkes "has the player done at least 1 order during the in-game day?" and if "yes" it adds another point to the counter. Reaching 10 grants the regular and 100 the gold badge, making it 10 and 100 days needed to optain the badges as quickly as possible. After multiple cases of people not optaining the badges even though requirements should have met it is most likely that the game has tracking difficulties (or rather a bug) with the player ordering from Murch and Spyke at the same time. So the safest way is clearing the list of ordered gear (up to 3 days without ordering) and only order through 1 of the 2 urchins.   Perfectionist   (talk) 19:59, 30 October 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

New Big Run badge names

In case if you're wondering, this is not a leak. When you update the game, these names take effect immediately. Check for yourself! KPOfficial26 (talk) 11:59, 30 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

X power badges

While playing the Big Run I ran across a player with a badge for getting 2000+ X power. The badge looked like a white sheild with a teal outline and the Tentatek logo inside. After playing with the user I went to them standing outside of Grizzco to see what the badge was remunerated for. Stamp (talk) 13:18, 4 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

New winstreak badge requirements

The new badges for Anarchy Series and X Rank win streaks may have been translated incorrectly in the patch notes - I've seen some confusion / ambiguous interpretation on Reddit (not exactly a source of course, I just can't find anything confirming the requirements) so I think it's best to keep an eye on if the actual requirements are verified in the next few weeks.

Possible interpretations I've seen:

  • Win N battles in a row (extremely unlikely, but there's other badges that aren't realistic at all like 10M Grizzco Points)
  • Win N series in a row, ie. reach crown tier N (also extremely unlikely, but seems to be the majority opinion - the wiki description for the X winstreak badge doesn't reflect this)
  • Win N cumulative series (seems extremely easy compared to the other two, but matches a lot of the other badges as something you just passively complete)

The patch notes list the anarchy badges as "Added badges that players can unlock based on the total number of five-win streaks in Anarchy Battle (Series)", and the X badges as "Added badges that players can unlock based on win streaks while at X Power 2000.0 or higher". It'd make sense if these badges had the same type of requirement, so I don't think this is conclusive for either one - again, likely just a translation error, but it might not be confirmed until someone is actually able to win 250 anarchy series (...possibly in a row). Lucs100 (talk) 05:41, 6 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

It looks like it's the 3rd one - winning (a 5-x finish) N cumulative series in Anarchy Series earns you the new badges. I'll update the page now. It's extremely likely that it's the same for the X Battle badges (where a won series ends at 3-x), but I'll wait for someone else to confirm, as I don't have access to X Battle right now. Side Order Badge requirements

I know Side Order recently released, but the "How to obtain" for the Rainbow 8 badge is incorrect.

Currently, it says, "Defeat Overlorder in the Spire of Order with Eight's Palette with no hacks", however me and several other people have obtained the badge while using hacks just fine. I can find multiple people who can prove this incorrect.

I believe the requirement is just as it says in-game: Clear the Spire of Order with Eight's Palette, no strings attached about how many hacks you use; The game itself already imposes a challenge about using hacks with Eight's Palette by reducing chip slots. However, I don't have anything to prove this. Kameron127 (talk) 01:51, 24 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Maybe you could share a video of someone playing with hacks on and unlocking the badge? Anemoia Anemoia Sig.png [Talk!] 14:13, 24 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hi all, I was able to complete this badge with 12 chips enabled on 8's palette. So definitely should be described as a 'low' hacks rather than 'no' hacks. Slate Talk Contribs 16:01, 24 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
So, after scavenging through the internet I was able to find this stream where, after activating 20+ hacks with Eight's Palette, he did NOT receive the badge for Low Hacks after beating it. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2070036097?t=10h27m10s
So yes, there seems to be some cap to how many hacks you can have and still get the badge. Kameron127 (talk) 18:52, 24 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
This many hacks would result in only 6 available chip slots, right? So I think it's safe to say based on this, Slate's experience, and even my own experience playing that the badge should be unlockable if you have down to 12 chip slots. Anemoia Anemoia Sig.png [Talk!] 18:58, 24 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
My first A8 playthrough I also used all hacks and didn't get the badge. The only uncertainty I have now is if having 5 hacks (6 slots) gives you the badge or not. I'm 99.9% sure having 6 hacks or more will not. Slate Talk Contribs 19:17, 24 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
My only complete playthrough of Eight's palette was with 6 slots (5 hacks iirc) and that got me the low hacks badge.
I haven't recorded the run, so the only proof I could offer is a clip of me scrolling through my list of runs and showing that I have the badge. (Which is easy to fake, unfort.) Teto (talk) 01:08, 26 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Regarding a badge in side order

Warning: spoilers to side order

Apparently, there's a badge in side order that requires you to use Eight's palette with 4 or less hacks. I have more than 4 hacks, and I have not gotten the badge yet. Am I still able to get the badge? Or am I locked from getting it? Fryerfricker (talk) 08:58, 9 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

You just need to complete a run with that Palette with 4 or fewer hacks. It doesn't matter if you had completed a run before with it (and with more than four hacks active). LatiusAuro (talk) 11:06, 9 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
i don't really understand Fryerfricker (talk) 13:32, 9 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Also, what I meant from "am I locked from getting it?" is am I unable to obtain the badge because I have more than four hacks, or is there a way to get less than four hacks if I've already gotten more than five hacks? Fryerfricker (talk) 13:34, 9 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
There is a way. Otherwise how can you get the full 3.0x Risky Rewards modifier?
Just select a hack you've unlocked, and you'll find that you can disable it fully by selecting the leftmost box. LatiusAuro (talk) 13:48, 9 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Oh okay. Thank you :) Fryerfricker (talk) 23:56, 9 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Won <Number> Straight Anarchy Battles (Series)

"A "Straight" series is any series that ends with 5 wins. To obtain these badges, your Anarchy Series streak must be in S+ rank."

- This is false. I got my badge, while I'm winning series on S Rank. Matthew1990 (talk) 08:27, 8 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
