Template pages

Hi Florescent; although we appreciate your attempts to improve the wiki, it would probably be best for you to hold off attempting to modify or create mainspace templates for the moment, as you seem to be a relatively new user. As it is, the edits you have been making to templates have left them very difficult to understand, sloppy-looking, or even dysfunctional.

Please consider making other more minor edits as part of studying wikicode in a bit more detail, or possibly even experimenting using a sandbox, before you return to template creation. Thank you! Driftin Soul (talk) 10:36, 28 January 2024 (UTC)

Once you feel you are more ready to attempt making templates, I would also recommend that you start by suggesting any template ideas you have either in Ink Pump or in our Discord server, as they can be rather wide-reaching in scope and it can be good to consult other editors on whether a given template may be helpful before going through with creating it. Use Show Preview

Hello. Thanks for your recent edits. One thing I will suggest you use is the button marked as "Show Preview" next to "Save Changes". This allows you to see what a page will look like with the changes you've made, without actually committing them as changes. This is useful to avoid small, frequent additions to pages and helps both administration and the site host out dramatically. If you have any questions on how to use this tool, feel free to ask. Moving files

Hi Florescent, thanks for trying to help us better our filenames in accordance with the image guidelines. In future however I'd strongly recommend using the "Move" tool rather than making an entirely new upload: it accomplishes the same goal of changing the filename, while also helping to preserve the file page's edit history, talk page, and so on, as well as not having to reupload the same file and potentially deal with issues that might crop up. For the moment the move tool will be no good, as it cannot be used to overwrite an existing page, but once staff get around to deleting the new uploads, those files can be moved properly. Addition of removal and notices

Hello, please be more careful when editing. You have added deletion notices to several images which could be considered useful but simply had not been placed anywhere yet. You have also added a deletion notice to an image still used on a page. Lastly, you have removed a translation template on Hare vs. Tortoise when translations are still required.

On a related note, please do not add unofficial info related to names in other languages. We have had to remove two languages that either did not match the released official materials (Chinese) or that no official materials have yet been released for (Korean). Even if a translation is 99.99% likely to be correct, we do not speculate (I'm also guessing you did the same for Italian, as although the name you gave does match official materials, you did not add the associated image or the Italian question). Moving twitter

Hey, we had intentionally not used the X name for the platform when making the twitter archive. For a large scale change such as this, it is requested that you ask about doing it on a talk page, the ink pump, or the discord server before actually making the change. I'll be reverting your moves here in a little bit. The reason twitter is still used is because not only is it the more recognizable name, most messages were committed to the platform named twitter called tweets and therefore is more widely acceptable for the majority of the content posted. Screenshots of official promo images usually have lower quality than when directly ripped from the source. It is still happening. Please do not upload webp versions of files, or files that you do not have the source for. All files MUST by policy and law have an appropriate source, which includes a link to the original source. Webp is almost always a thumbnailed version of the actual file, meaning it is worse quality in a format fewer people can use. Trig - 20:49, 13 February 2024 (UTC)

You've ban evaded so many times that I don't know what to refer to you as, so here's the new prescription: Your bans have been upgraded to a full IP ban. You are fully, truly, not able to edit Inkipedia. We know this is the same person every time due to familiar editing quirks, repeated errors or misinformation, editing your own banned accounts' files, and the fact that all of your contributions are localized to the same IP address. We were kind and supportive at first about your efforts to help—even if there were errors, but that faith and guidance have been completely abused for your blatant disregard for the rules in place about the evasion of bans, ban duration, and editing practices. This decision is not appealable for the foreseeable future. For the sake of other websites as well as ourselves, please do not engage in the behaviors that you have been doing prior anywhere again.
