GuyPerfect (talk | contribs | logs) After a period of six months with no activity (last edit being February 10 of 2023), GuyPerfect has made no edits or any major contact to Inkipedia as a whole. Per demotion policy, I nominate for the demotion of Guy. Trig - 17:08, 25 August 2023 (UTC)

While Guy has not been active in the content addition sphere, he is responsible for a large amount of changes to Inkipedia's skin and other CSS/JS elements. As far as I know he still remains willing to help in this sector should his help be needed, and so I think he should keep the interface admin rights. Luke26 (talk) 15:39, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
If he has not made changes to these pages since then, I do not anticipate there to be future edits. He is more than welcome to re-apply for the position should there be widespread changes to make, or he can contact an existing interface admin to make changes. We should probably have a "Legacy Admin/Patroller" role. HockeyFleur29 (talk) 15:44, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
Unnecessary. Staff who are no longer staff have no need for indication or rights. We (unusually) don't document former staff, so a list of those members may be nice. Nintendo Wiki has a weak list of former members, just could update that. Trig - 16:11, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
User was ostracized following the release of Splatoon 3, where their requests for assistance and collaboration went ignored just as they had been multiple times during the content cycle of Splatoon 2. Similarly, their input regarding a reorganization on Discord was not taken into consideration due to the fact that that decision was a hasty, emotioally-motivated foregone conclusion disguised by the facade of community engagement. The user's history of activity on Inkipedia is not relevant: if we valued their contributions, they would still be contributing and we wouldn't be having this conversation. There is little sense in putting something like this up for a vote, although that may be better than the alternative of envisioning a version of reality where decisions can be made without holding a vote. --GuyPerfect (talk) 17:47, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
Regarding Eli's comment, I don't think he should be demoted to patroller; GuyPerfect has not patrolled any pages in three entire years. Furthermore the vote text plainly states it's a demotion to autopatrolled, not patroller. Patrollers are expected to use the patrol tools to qualify as active patrollers. His previous vital contributions to this site are something staff is well aware of: I think a history page listing previous staff members' "tenure" would be great.

I'd like to note the messages GuyPerfect sent when the Inkipedia Discord community was splitting off from ABXY's server, in which they threatened to help the Fandom wiki. The reasoning behind this threat is unclear to me; it seemed like they wanted to ensure Inkipedia would be updated timely around update season via threatening to help its competitor instead. This kind of behavior from an admin is completely absurd, and I'm surprised they did not lose his rights right then and there. Yoshifan52 (talk) 18:16, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
Making this abundantly clear: This demotion is strictly about activity on the platform, not behavioral concerns. To be clear, there are several concerns I did have about behavior as well that I very intentionally chose to not address in this demotion. As for the response received, it is not only incorrect for exterior matters (community engagement vastly improved due to the segmenting of a Discord) but also due to policy: The demotion policy has always been an Inkipedia policy since 2015. There was no secret this was coming, the rules for demotion being a set period of time, as a voted upon collective decision. This avoids a targeted attack on a user for improper demotion. While the policy was overhauled this year in 2023, it did not change the method of voting, nor most of the core components of demotion. Voting for community approval is a positive feature for this and most scenario. Nobody was forcing your absence, that was a conscious decision of your own accord. Because of those actions, per the rules that were already in place, I invoked a demotion to remove your rights. You are still able to contribute to the site should you choose. You are able to run again for your position should you choose. The only thing we are focusing on for this demotion is that a six month period of time passed with zero contributions, which is the criteria for losing rights, and that policy is being acted upon. Trig Jegman - 19:36, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
I have a couple things to say. Firstly, a legacy staff position is unwarranted in this scenario. However, I would support a page listing former staff, so that their contributions can be remembered. Secondly, I fully support Trig here. If GuyPerfect cared at all about this wiki and community, they would have shown it by editing and interacting with the wiki and community in the past 6 months. We have Inkipedia:Wall of Fame though it requires a vote for anyone to be listed there. To anyone suggesting that GuyPerfect be listed somewhere or otherwise recognized for their contributions, I suggest creating a request for rights vote to add them to the wall of fame. Heddy (talk) 15:07, 1 September 2023 (UTC)
Agreeing with Trig. Demotions are based on user activity and not as much as behavior. GuyPerfect is able to re-apply for admin rights when he become active again and is willing to take responsibility in that position. OrderSquid38 New Squid.jpg OrderSquid38 [Talk] 18:57, 2 September 2023 (UTC)

Given limited usage of admin rights and recent inactivity, I agree with the above. Please contact an admin for reinstation if/when you come back. Thank you for your contributions here on Inkipedia!
