I know how to archive, but you might need to ask for permission. All you have to do is copy the inkfests from the current page, create a new page called Inkfests/Archive (or something like that) and paste it. Again, you'd need permission, but I hope this helps. Line breaks in signatures

I am writing to inform you, that your signatures line breaks and positioning are against the signature policy. Additionally, they seem to prevent the function to reply to you in talk pages by regular means, as the [reply] funktion after comments doesn't show up behind your signature, likely due to the space it takes up. When sourcing files

Do not use the game name for a file source. That is already covered in |game= and |description= parameters—rather, we need to know *who* the image came from, and the person that can be attributed as the source of the file. Please do not remove the file template from deletion pending files. It is not necessary to do that, and can in some cases be destructive to understanding why a file is being deleted. Sizzle Season Weapons

Again, your current signature is a violation of the signature policy. You are required to include your username in some form in your signature. WEBP is Not Great

Based off File talk:AlmanacDoubleEgg.webp; WEBP is not a well supported file format, as it has a host of display and quality issues associated with it. Furthermore, this WEBP taken from FANDOM was a lower quality thumbnail (as the source file was a PNG). They also don't have standard optimization tools, meaning they oftentimes will be larger than PNG or JPG counterparts. Trig - 13:23, 26 May 2023 (UTC)

FANDOM images

Please stop arguing with staff and not accepting our decisions: this is a warning regarding your disruptive behavior.

Please stop uploading images from FANDOM; that site is a wiki host that favors advertising for profit over editor support and wiki content quality, which is in direct opposition to independent wikis as a whole, especially NIWA wikis; you are free to read up on the problems independent wiki editors have with FANDOM on your own. As such, we really prefer to not use it as a source for our wiki content unless completely, absolutely necessary; the manga scan uploads you've added are not in high demand. It would be best to work on getting these scans from your own copy of the books, or asking other users with access to do so.

Splatoon 2 Splatfest pages' NioL sections

Hey, it's come to my attention you've altered the titles of and/or removed the Localized Name templates for a lot of the S2 Splatfest pages' Private Battle Splatfest Ink color selection name variants; these aren't always the exact same as the Splatfests' typical names, as they have separate internal listings and aren't accessed the same way standard Splatfests were, and are to be labelled and documented separately because of that. Machine translations

Hey Randomnamehere! I noticed you were adding translations for a lot of different languages. Please do not add translations for languages unless you are a fluent speaker and reader in that language. I added translations that were already visibly there, for example, for the Salty vs. Sweet Splatfest, I added in the French Translations since they were previously there on the page, just removed. You have added many translations to pages which were never previously added to the page, such as [1], where you modified/added several translations in languages that you do not claim to be fluent in. Some other examples of this behavior include [2] and [3]. EminenceTalk 21:29, 10 June 2023 (UTC)

I apologize for those, I am only fluent in three languages and will only translate those. But, specifically, when I translated Squid vs. Octopus, I assumed each translation meant "Squids vs. Octopus/Octopuses". File naming

I've reverted your renames, as they are less descriptive and inconsistently formatted names. The majority of files had already been changed to a better name, so it doesn't make sense to revert them to a worse one. InkBerry is replacing those few Squid Sisters ones here shortly—thus having new consistent naming. While it applies moreso to game files, I have a dedicated help section on why file naming matters, and better ways to improve it—CharacterManga is not one I would suggest. Thanks. Formatting of Deep Cut Splatfest stage news quotes

Hi, I noticed that you (re-)added the Splatfest ref to the quotes pages after I added all the stage dialogues in the new format with separate table for each dialogue. (The new format is needed because the Deep Cut stage dialogue often have more than two lines and with mixed ordering, so grouping them all together is very confusing.) While I appreciate your help, I want to point out that with the new format, the fact that a set of dialogue is Splatfest-only is already stated before the table. The Splatfest ref you added is not only redundant, but also makes the page more cluttered. Therefore, I would like to ask you to revert those changes. Thanks. Sorry to butt in, but in the case of S2's Splatfest-related quotes having refs attached, it would be best to separate the non-Splatfest dialogue from the Splatfest dialogue into individual instances of the StageQuotes template; those ref tags you've removed served to help differentiate between the two. Removing the refs without doing additional organization is not constructive. Please refer to how Harimaron has organized the Splatfest-related dialogue for the S3 quotes section to get a better understanding of what I'm referring to. Thanks for undoing them. By the way, please note that although the Splatfest dialogue are there in the game files, they have not been officially shown in-game yet. It would be best for us to keep them hidden until the next Splatfest is held and those dialogues are confirmed to be visible in-game.

Regarding the S/S2 quotes, since they always only have two speakers and every dialogue use the same sequence (left then right), we don't necessarily need to split them in the same way. I am thinking we should modify Template:StageQuotes to make it clearer that each row represents a pair of dialogue, and to add a way (maybe an additional heading row) to denote Splatfest-specific dialogues. Hey, just letting you know that the reason you gave for the deletion of File:Frye_Expression_Talk_LookOther.png is misleading, as this image is similar to File:Frye_Expression_Wait_right.png rather than the one you linked in the template. Top 100 pages' categories and Splatfest screenshots

Hey Randomnamehere, I saw you've recently added categories to each Top 100 Splatfest subpage; please note that each page should no longer be sorted under Category:Splatfest Top 100 listings, as that was changed into a parent category. After your edits, all Top 100 pages were erroneously listed under both the parent (Splatfest Top 100 listings) and child (Splatoon/2/3 Top 100 listings) categories, rather than exclusively the child category (per-game Splatfest Top 100 listings). I had an admin correct it for now, but please be mindful of this in the future.

The Deep Cut dialogues order

Hi! I noticed that you attempted to fix the correct dialogue order on the Money vs. Fame vs. Love page, so I figured that I'll explain you how the Deep Cut dialogues work. Here are some of the nuances that differ DC dialogues from the others:

• Unlike how we did with Off the Hook's dialogues, if Frye or Big Man's quote comes before Shiver's, we move Shiver's quote on the next line to avoid confusion. Same goes for the cases when Big Man's quote was said before Frye's. Here's an example:

Shiver “Awww, who knew Big Man was such a softy? It's me. I knew.”

• Sometimes, when Frye says her quote alone, it may appear either on the left or on the right in the game. We keep this order in the dialogue templates. Automatically, Frye's quotes appear on the right, but to move it to the left, we add "L" between "F" and the quote number. For example, "FL1".

Final warning about machine translations

Hello, Randomnamehere. Please stop adding machine translations to the wiki. In several recent edits, such as translations on Barreleye and Umibozu Home Jersey, you added or modified translations for languages that you are not fluent in, with clear evidence of machine translations. I got the Barreleye translation from fandom, as well as the Japanese version of his name. I know it's not my place but i'm pretty sure the Umibozu Home Jersey is not the correct translation, it might just be me reaching but (dom.) is not a word and has no meaning... if someone could check behind it that is fluent in the language. -Random 01:55, 12 August 2023 (UTC)

As we have discussed previously on this talk page, the Coroika Wiki is not an acceptable source. Their information, especially translations, are unreliable at best and we have no way of verifying it without a fluent speaker who can translate the language. As for the Umibozu Home Jersey, as we have also discussed previously, any translations of languages which you are not fluent in are unacceptable. EminenceTalk 02:10, 12 August 2023 (UTC)

Missing paranthesis

Hey, in this edit you added the parenthesis back. When adding quotes, they have to be added the way they appear in-game. So if they have a mistake, like a missing paranthesis in this case, we keep the mistake. Use the template ^[sic] to show it was not a mistake by the editor. Adding source listings on others' uploads

Update: Trig contacted the uploader (Staradamstar) and it turns out those files were not media created/ripped by the uploader as you had input. This is a formal warning: please do not add sources to files that you are not 100% certain of the correct source on. The German Deep Cut Splatfest dialogue

I am firstly noting, that it is appreciated that you tackled the German version if the Shiver vs. Frye vs. Big Man announcement. But I also have to note that there were enough errors that I find it necessary to write a message informing about it. Said errors are multiple typos, irregular use of vocabulary and incorrect translation. For the typo issue I wholeheartedly propose that you take a second look at your edit, focussing on said typos, before saving. The irregular vocabularly I mentioned are cases where you translated Shiver's "bescheiden" to "modest", while Frye used the same word with you translating it to "humble". Normally errors like these occur when using translation software/programs, but as I avoid accusing editors of using a translator, I suggest taking a third glance at your edit, focussing on re-appearing words or phrases and sticking to the most fitting. An example of incorrect translation is "Echt jetzt?" ("For real?") to "Right now?" ("Gerade eben?" or "Jetzt?"). The typos were because I got the German version from someone else... basically they wrote it down and then sent it to me so there were typos and I didn't check, apologies, i'll look over that. Some of those errors that you found seem like re-wording... such as 'graceful' and 'elegant', "i'll be the one to put us back together!" and "I'll unite us again", 'boss' and 'leader', personally... that one is confusing for me. -Random 13:03, 7 September 2023 (UTC)

I changed some stuff like elegant, boss, leader etc. while correcting the errors. Those were not mistakes but rather vocabulary I found more fitting (but honestly, I might as well change back to elegant).

My change from "put back" to "unite" was chosen due to Fryes later "Frye Cut" pun. And the official translation for "Chefin" is "Boss" rather than leader.   Perfectionist   (talk) 14:53, 7 September 2023 (UTC)

I understand the official translation of Chefin being boss, but in this situation, couldn't it be argued that the word 'leader' fits more... since they've been saying 'leader' the entire time? It doesn't bother me much, but I just wanted to cover that. -Random 18:03, 7 September 2023 (UTC)

It can be argued, yes. The reason I stuck with "boss" however is the German question being about "who would be the best boss". So I only translated "Anführer" to "leader" any other case got translated to boss.   Perfectionist   (talk) 18:09, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
