User:Noivern/Elite Octoling's Advice
(Hey, a blog feature! Seems fun, right?)
I've owned Splatoon since May, and I really enjoy the game, from a simple game of Turf War to a challenging game of Ranked Battle. Sadly, some players in the game forget about some powerful weapons, especially the underused ones. In this blog, I will discuss about weapons, their flaws, and their pros. Oh! Don't forget what modes they are good at!
Turf War Recommendations
First thing's first, Turf War, the most iconic mode in the game. Sometimes, people help their team and ink every piece of the terrain. Others, though, just prefer to get into the middle as fast as possible before others claim it. This causes problems, because you are more likely to get "DANGER!" faster if you don't ink the base, so do that first.
Second, the weapons. Any weapon will do, but here's a few personal favourites and tips...
- The Splash-o-matic, one of the best weapons in the game. Why is this, you say? First of all, it has a great Special; Bomb Rush with Suction Bombs, which is able to cover turf in a very quick amount of time. Make sure to wear Special Charge Up or Special Duration Up, because you don't want to lose the effect too quickly. It also covers turf very fast, so it's like an upgraded Splattershot Jr.
- The Carbon Roller is a weapon that's also excellent. Does it bother you to cover the turf? Too tiresome? Well, with the Carbon Roller, you can now do it faster so you can get into the action of covering your enemies turf. Wear Run Speed Up if you want a better speed, gotta go fast!
- The Splattershot is pretty good too. It's a decent starter weapon with an easy-to-use Special. Burst Bombs may not be strong, but it can take over enemy Ink pretty fast. Once again, make sure to wear Special Duration Up, it works in this case.
- Other weapons that do well in this mode include the Aerospray MG, Splat Roller and the Bamboozler 14 MK I, as Turf War isn't all about kills.
Ranked Battle Recommendations
Ranked Battle, also known as the most stressful and challenging mode of the game. Some people think it's rigged, but in reality, it's not. Having the right weapon choice is important, and here I'll discuss what's good for each mode of it.
How to be a good teammate
Helping your team in Splatoon is a thing that matters. Like they say, Rank or Level does not equal your skill, because we were all once new to the game. Here's some does and don'ts.
DOES:
- If you are the only non-Splatted player in a match, try place Squid Beakons or use the "To me!/C'mon!" signal, as it will save your teammates time.
- Keep the turf under control. You don't want to lose easily!
- It's not all about wins! There's your reminder.
DON'TS:
- Prevent your teammates from doing anything or inking turf. Not only your game.
- Leave a lot of botches of turf left un-inked.
- DISCONNECT BECAUSE YOU'RE LOSING. Try fight.
