View from a cannon during a Cohock Charge

Cohock Charge is a Known Occurrence in Salmon Run.

Description

The only Lesser Salmonid that spawns during this event is the Cohock. Ink Cannons appear to help the players defeat the horde. This event can only occur during low tide. When the cannon is colored, that indicates that a player is using it. The cannons consume 10% of the player's ink tank, allowing for ten shots in one turn because ink cannot be recovered in the cannons.

Tips

  • Even with the help of Ink Cannons, it is still difficult to kill bosses due to a large number of Cohocks surrounding it.
  • Players in a cannon should be aware of bosses like Maws or Steel Eels sneaking up on them.
    • Players can see a Maws' green indicator periodically, but most of the time it is difficult to leave the Ink Cannon before it's too late.
    • Players should also be aware of Flyfish missiles, too.
    • Players in cannons can react to missiles because of it's sound.
    • Steel Eels don't make any sound if you haven't seen them yet, so it is common to be killed by surprise.
  • Having only one player in a cannon at a time is beneficial than having 2 or 3.
  • On maps like Marooner's Bay or Spawning Grounds, there are Ink Cannons that are elevated and further away, which is best for killing salmonid. These cannons are also known as Top Cannons.
    • Marooner's Bay Top Cannon has a difficult angle on salmonid closer to the basket, so it is best for another crewmate to go in a different cannon temporarily.
  • Try to avoid hitting Scrappers in an Ink Cannon, since they will go towards the Ink Cannon and away from the basket.
  • Players on Ark Polaris should rotate between cannons sine they are very close to the basket and cannot hit bosses easily.
  • Cannon missiles can destroy Flyfish baskets.
    • Crewmates not in cannons should position themselves so Flyfish are facing the cannons for an easy kill.
  • Canons can easily kill Stingers far away. However, players may need to rotate cannons to reach them.
  • Cannon missiles can instantly destroy Steelheads about to launch a bomb by shooting them anywhere on it's body.
  • Players who have the S2 Weapon Main Grizzco Slosher.png Grizzco Slosher or a Charger shouldn't go in cannons since they can pierce Cohocks.
    • Bamboozlers can't pierce salmonid, so it is best for them to be in a cannon.
