Image fix

I kinda screwed up. I tried adding an image in Splatfest Tee and instead of the image, the image URL was there instead. Could anyone either fix that or re-do it? I'd also like to know how I can place an image on a page, if anyone could show me how.

You should post this on the talk page for the page you edited, but it's fine. The wiki doesn't allow using images from external websites, for several reasons. You'll have to get the image from the website, uploaded to the wiki, carefully pick the license, and only then can you use it. – Espyo^T 15:58, 3 August 2015 (UTC)

Uploading Images

I tried to upload a new file of the Team Rock logo image on the Splatfest page and it uploaded it four times. What do I do? And can somebody delete the unwanted ones?

I was trying to upload one without the crescent, yet it says thats the current one even though I reverted it. Any way you could help me with that?

Erm.. well, if you.. see the correct image, you know you're not wrong. If it doesn't look wrong, then it isn't. I'm looking at it and it looks fine. Nobody can even see the previous versions of the file unless they actually... go looking for them.

And to make a unique signature, go to Special:Preferences. See the thing that says "New signature"? In there you can put whatever you want your signature to look like. Like, to make mine orange and have an exclamation mark, I've got:

[[User:Bzeep|<font color="#f2992e">Bzeep!</font>]]

So yeah. Play around with it if you want. Once you have something you like, you can put it in Template:Patrollerlist.

Ah yeah they don't get used a ton. I can't speak for anybody else, but.. I just don't have anything to blog about, really. I think their original implementation had something to do with the fact that Wikia uses em a lot, but they don't see much use here. And I don't mean that like its a bad thing! Simply linking is not a breach of law (and I doubt embedded is either). It's whether we want to do it -- who's to say what makes a "good quality" video? Category:DLC to Category:Downloadable content

I've suddenly noticed userboxes popping up everywhere! 3 Questions:

• 1) Can we make our own?
• 2) Is there a page for userboxes?

2. You can find out by checking the templates derived from Template:Userbox. We could make a category in future or have a list on the Userbox template or subpages...
3. There's more like Template:RankS, and of course editors can make more.

Make a new template page with it, e.g. Template:NewUserbox (except a better name). I suggest copying the code from another userbox page like RankS, then changing it to match what you want to do.

Ability Charts

To combat the startling lack of charts on this wiki, I went ahead and made some for Ink Saver (Sub), Special Charge Up, Special Duration Up, and Special Saver. Please give me feedback - can they be improved, do they fit in with the wiki, are there mistakes, etc. Heddy (talk) 03:34, 26 March 2016 (UTC)

Looks mostly good to me, but I have a few questions/suggestions:

• Do we need the images? I'm an abstract thinker, so I don't know if they make things clearer for others or just take up space.
• Make the table sortable and split up the quantities into a main and sub column.

Rainmaker (Weapon)

I'm currently considering to film a Rainmaker weapon demo. Should we create a Rainmaker weapons page with all its stats and treat it like an actual weapon in the wiki? Splatoon Wikia made a page for it already. If need be, I can try and estimate the weapon's stats by using weapons similar to it. Since it can't be owned, has no turf count, and isn't considered Main/Sub/Special, I'd say it's not even a weapon in the first place. It doubt it needs its own page - Splatoon Wikia isn't exactly an exemplar, eheh. --Bzeep! talk 19:04, 4 April 2016 (UTC)

I got the data. Here it is: Mobility: 25/100 (Compared with the Hydra Splatling). Charge Speed: 52/100 (Compared with the Splatterscope). Range: 78/100 (Compared with the Heavy Splatling).

I can't seem to find any weapon stats for the rainmaker in the game's files. I can only find the stats for the shield that surrounds the rainmaker. So if a rainmaker page is made, please don't try to list any imprecise stats. Just say "similar to hydra splatling", "similar to splatterscope", etc. Heddy (talk) 03:36, 6 April 2016 (UTC)

I compared most of the stats to weapons I found they would be similar to. It seems as though the range is exactly the same as a Heavy Splatling. Mobility is just a tiny bit better than Hydra Splatling or the same. Charge Speed is just a tad faster than Splatterscope (by 0.1-0.2 seconds). If I make the page, I'll likely add a footnote that the stats are an estimate and what weapons were used to find the estimates.

Map overviews with callouts can be found here. Some overviews are missing labels and some of the callouts are unnecessarily detailed, but it's a good starting point if someone wants to create some images with streamlined callouts. Heddy (talk) 22:48, 23 April 2016 (UTC)

gridlines vs. no gridlines

Which of these looks better? File:Quick Super Jump vs Quick Respawn Chart.png or File:Suction Bomb Ink Saver Berry Splattershot Pro Chart.png. I just don't know whether these should have an uninterrupted flow of colors or tidy gridlines. Heddy (talk) 00:56, 27 April 2016 (UTC)

How can I make helpful edits?

Hello. I've been on Inkipedia for a while, and some of my edits seem to be reverted. Does anyone have tips for me to make helpful edits?

What I like to do is click the random page button then see if there is anything I can fix on whatever page I get. Mostly just small grammar mistakes, but sometimes there's formatting problems or more images needed. Also, you can always check out the "How can I help" page. Try looking at the New pages list and efiting pages there. I find that the newer pages have a lot more spelling, grammar and punctuation mistakes; thpos; and need more information.

Something to improve this page?

I see a lot of old discussions on the ink pump, some of which are not relevant anymore, such as the Snow VS Sand splatfest info. Could we delete old discussions, or make it a rule that you have to delete them if they become irrelevant? I would be willing to help with this, but I thought it would be best to throw this out there first to see what admins think. More suggestions

Sorry ya'll, I know I ask a lot, but I think I have some good ideas.

1)Maybe make a page where people new to Inkpedia can comment, ask for help, and whatnot so other people can find them more easily and help out.

2)A tutorial page on basic wiki coding. Personally, I started learning how to edit by making my profile look nice, so maybe a tutorial on that? It has practically everything you need to start editing.

3)A page kind of like this one, except where people can just talk about the game and offer strategy tips. I think there might be something like this already, does anyone know?

There's a problem

Sometimes, but not always, the read, edit, and view history buttons on the top slide left and right and hide behind the watch/unwatch button. I have to chase them to click on them! This has been happening since when I joined Inkipedia. Could we fix it somehow? (maybe the buttons are bored of just sitting there!) User:Mr squid/Sig 15:33, 12 June 2016 (UTC)

Can confirm, this happens on small resolution screens such as mobiles where the page can't fit all the tabs across properly. Since aegis left, we don't really have anyone that specialises in page styling, but I will take a look at it. User:Kjhf/Sig 15:42, 12 June 2016 (UTC)
