I have recently found out that some people refer to a species that is a cross between Inklings and Octolings as Inktolings. This is not what my name means. Inktoling is what I accidentally called Inklings after being used to saying Octoling after completing the octo expansion. Inktoling is just a silly way to say Inkling.
When choosing my name, I did not consider the fan concept of an inkling-octoling hybrid; in my case, inktoling was just a silly way to pronounce inkling.
