This article is about the replica weapon, unlockable for use in versus battles. For the weapon used in various Hero Modes, see Hero Shot.

The Hero Shot Replica is a main weapon in the Splatoon series. It is a reskin of the Splattershot.

Appearance

The Hero Shot Replica, like the Splattershot and Hero Shot, vastly differs in appearance between games. In Splatoon, the Hero Shot Replica is identical to its game's Hero Shot with no upgrades, being mainly black and yellow with blue lights. In Splatoon 2, it is again identical to its relative game's Hero Shot, this time being mainly yellow with some black parts and being based on the Level 3 Hero Shot, which in turn resembles the real-life FN P90. In Splatoon 3 , it is also identical to that of the single player's Hero Shot in appearance.

The Hero Shot Replica is a reskin of the Splattershot, with the same stats and loadout (Burst Bombs and Bomb Rush). It is only available from the Inkling Squid after completing all of its Octo Valley challenges.

The Hero Shot Replica is based on the Hero Shot, the main Shooter only usable in Octo Valley and during the Inkling Squid amiibo challenges. However, when the blueprints are given to Sheldon at Ammo Knights, the player is informed that he cannot recreate the technology used in the original gun, so only a replica could be made.

The design appears to be modeled after a typical paint-ball gun.

Unlock

To unlock the Hero Shot Replica, the player must play the last set of missions from the Inkling Squid amiibo:

Once the last challenge is finished, the Inkling Squid will award the player with cash and the blueprints for the Hero Shot, created by Ammoses Shellendorf, Sheldon's grandfather. Upon entering Ammo Knights, Sheldon will inform the player that although he cannot replicate the original technology, he can recreate it in design.

Data

  • The Hero Shot Replica is a middleweight weapon.
  • Each shot consumes 0.9% of the ink tank capacity.
    • This allows players to fire 111 shots before needing to refill the ink supply.
    • This stat can be changed with Ink Saver (Main).
  • When firing continuously, it shoots a bullet every 6 frames (10 shots per second).
  • When firing while moving, the player's movement speed is set to 0.72 units per frame.
  • After firing, there is a 20 frame cooldown before the ink tank starts refilling.
  • Each shot has a base damage of 35.
  • Shots travel straight for 4 frames. After that, they may lose damage. A shot will lose damage until it reaches 17.5 damage at frame 15.
  • Shots have a radius of 2 units.
  • The angle its shots can deviate while on the ground is 6 degrees.
  • The angle its shots can deviate while in the air is 15 degrees.
  • The outer reticle immediately expands after jumping. The outer reticle will finish shrinking after 60 frames.
  • The chance to shoot towards the outer reticle instead of the inner reticle increases by 2% per shot, and maximizes at a 25% chance to shoot towards the outer reticle.
    • This means that it takes 13 shots to reach minimum accuracy.
  • When jumping, the chance to shoot towards the outer reticle instead of the inner reticle is immediately set to 40%.
  • Accuracy starts recovering 6 frames after the player stops shooting.
  • Shots initially travel straight at a rate of 22 units per frame for 4 frames. Shots travel straight for 88 distance units.
  • Ink droplets occur every 75 units.
  • The frequency at which ink drips from a shot occurs at a rate of 2 droplets per shot.
  • There are a total of 5 different droplet patterns that can be created while firing this weapon.
  • Droplets that occur within 11 units of the player have a radius of 19.2 units.
  • Droplets that occur when they travel past 200 units of the player have a radius of 18 units.
  • All other ink droplets have a radius of 13 units.

The Hero Shot Replica returns to Splatoon 2 with an updated model that is visually identical to the Level 3 Hero Shot from this game. However, it is once again mechanically identical to the Splattershot. It comes with the sub Burst Bomb and the special Splashdown. It is seemingly modeled after the real-life firearm, the FN Herstal P-90.

Unlock

To unlock the Hero Shot Replica, the player must complete every level with the Hero Shot in Octo Canyon.

Data

  • The Hero Shot Replica is a middleweight weapon.
  • The matchmaking range is 125. The game's matchmaking system looks at a team's average matchmaking range value, and matches them against a team with a similar average.
  • The ink consumption of 0.92% and ink tank capacity of 100% allows players to fire 108 shots before needing to refill the ink supply.
  • When initially firing the weapon in humanoid form, the first shot takes 3 frames to come out.
  • When firing from swim form, the first shot takes 11 frames to come out.
  • The interval between firing and when the player is able to enter swim form or use a sub weapon is 4 frames.
  • When firing continuously, it shoots a bullet every 6 frames (10 shots per second).
  • When firing while moving, the player's movement speed is set to 0.72 units per frame.
  • After firing, there is a 20 frame cooldown before the ink tank starts refilling.
  • Each shot has a base damage of 36.
  • If a shot is in the air for more than 8 frames after being fired, it loses 0.5625 damage per frame until it reaches 18 damage at frame 40.
  • The bullet hitbox has a radius of 2 units.
  • The angle its shots can deviate while on the ground is 6 degrees.
  • The angle its shots can deviate while in the air is 12 degrees.
  • The outer reticle immediately expands after jumping. After 25 frames, the outer reticle will start shrinking, and will finish shrinking after 70 frames.
  • The Hero Shot Replica starts off having a 1% chance to shoot towards the outer reticle instead of the inner reticle.
    • This chance increases by 1% per shot, and maximizes at a 25% chance to shoot towards the outer reticle, meaning that it takes 24 shots to reach minimum accuracy.
  • When jumping, the chance to shoot towards the outer reticle instead of the inner reticle is immediately set to 40%.
  • Accuracy starts recovering 6 frames after the player stops shooting. The chance to shoot towards the outer reticle decreases by 1.5% per frame, if the chance is not already at the minimum, meaning that it takes 22 frames to reach maximum accuracy. (32 after shooting while jumping.)
  • Shots initially travel straight at a rate of 22 units per frame for 4 frames. Shots travel straight for 88 distance units.
    • After that, the shot's velocity is set to 14.495 units per frame if it is not already lower than the listed value, and decreases further as it travels.
  • Ink droplets occur every 92 units.
  • The frequency at which ink drips from a shot occurs at a rate of 1.5 droplets per shot.
  • There are a total of 6 different droplet patterns that can be created while firing this weapon.
  • Droplets that occur within 11 units of the player have a radius of 18 units, and a width of 12 units.
    • These droplets have their radius multiplied by a value ranging from 1.2 if they fell from a height above 100 units to 1.4 if they fell from a height below 30 units.
  • Droplets that occur when they travel past 200 units of the player have a radius of 16 units.
  • All other ink droplets have a radius of 12.8 units.
  • Droplets that are far from the player and all other droplets have their radius multiplied by a value ranging from 1 if they fell from a height above 100 units to 1.2 if they fell from a height below 30 units.

S2 Sheldon Artwork.png
Sheldon's Introduction

The Hero Shot Replica is a different aesthetic take on the standard Splattershot model. This weapon came about after I made a breakthrough in my research and managed to create the ultimate weapon! Sadly, it never made it to mass production because the guys at the factory couldn't wrap their heads around my advanced schematics... So instead they just slapped some shiny parts on a standard Splattershot and called it the Hero Shot Replica. But it sure looks fresh, doesn't it? Give it a shot sometime.
