The Sloshing Machine Neo features a special sticker from the manufacturer. The Point Sensor sub weapon leads you straight to the enemy, letting you unleash twisty destruction! And if you feel the need for more range than the main shot can offer, that's where the Inkzooka comes in! (NA/EU/OC)[a]

The new and improved* Sloshing Machine! The sub weapon sniffs out the enemy's hiding place, so it's easier to hit players who are taking cover. *It has a sweet sticker on it now.

Sheldon's Introduction

The Sloshing Machine Neo features a special sticker from the manufacturer. Its stats are the same, but you can use the Point Sensor to reveal the location of opponents to your entire team! And for any opponents that manage to evade you, use the Splat-Bomb Launcher to send 'em back to their spawn point! Recommended to tactical players who want to support their team and splat their enemies!

According to our research, the Sloshing Machine Neo will be available this evening, just prior to Splatfest kickoff. Just like the Sloshing Machine, this weapon can be effective on enemies hiding in the terrain... and just like the Sloshing Machine, you shouldn't try to wash your clothes in it (this was hard research, indeed). Rounding out the kit is the Point Sensor to reveal the location of opponents to your team, and the Splat-Bomb Launcher to wreak a little havoc.
The Sloshing Machine Neo is a twist on the regular Sloshing Machine.

As with the regular version, the main weapon is a great tool for striking foes who are cowering behind cover, and the addition of a Point Sensor means that nobody can hide from you for long.

On top of that, the Splat Bomb Launcher(sic) special helps you rapidly secure turf for your team.

The Sloshing Machine Neo returns in Splatoon 3 as part of the Drizzle Season 2023. Its design is slightly updated, with its bottom part now being black. Its kit consists of Point Sensor and Trizooka, which is based on its Splatoon kit.

Data

  • The Sloshing Machine Neo is a middleweight weapon.
  • The matchmaking range is 14.7. The game's matchmaking system looks at a team's average matchmaking range value, and matches them against a team with a similar average.
  • The ink consumption of 9.2% per shot allows the user to fire 10 times on a full ink tank.
  • After firing, there is a 42 frame cooldown before ink starts refilling.
  • When initially attacking in humanoid form, the first shot takes 12 frames to come out.
  • When initially attacking from swim form, the first shot takes 18 frames to come out.
  • The movement speed while firing is set to 0.07 units per frame.
  • The time between consecutive swings is 38 frames.
  • The interval between firing and being able to enter swim form or use a sub weapon is 20 frames.
  • The effective range is about 12.82 units while grounded and 12.67 while airborne.
    • This is the distance in which the crosshair will change shape when looking at an opponent and is otherwise arbitrary since sloshers do not use traditional falloff mechanics.

Central ink glob

  • The group consists of only 1 projectile.
  • The group starts spawning as soon as the lifting animation ends.
  • The projectile spawns with an initial speed of 1.4737 units per frame while grounded, and 1.4563 units per frame while airborne. It flies straight at this speed for 5 frames.
    • After this, the velocity is set to 10.0 units per frame if it is not already below this number, and decreases by 10% every frame, including the first frame in which it stops flying straight. Once the shot velocity decreases below a certain threshold, it will begin to be slowed more and fall faster.
  • The projectile deals 76 damage.
    • Damage falloff starts when a projectile falls 1.5 units below its initial spawning point. It will lose damage the further it falls until it has fallen to 8.5 units below its spawning point, at which point it will deal 52 damage.
  • The projectile spawns with an initial collision radius of 0.025 units for players and 0.01 units for the stage. After 5 frames, the collision radius for players changes to 0.25 units, and after 4 frames, the collision radius for the stage changes to 0.1 units.

Ink spiral

  • The group contains 4 projectiles that spawn consecutively 2 frames apart from each other.
  • The group starts spawning 1 frames after the lifting animation ends.
  • The first projectile spawns with an initial speed of 1.4737 units per frame while grounded, and 1.4563 units per frame while airborne.
    • Each subsequent projectile spawns with an initial speed that is 0 units per frame slower than the last.
  • The projectiles deal 38 damage.
    • The damage is not reduced by the projectile falling.
  • The first projectile spawns with an initial collision radius of 0.047 units for players and 0.0 units for the stage. After 5 frames, the collision radius for players changes to 0.47 units, and after 4 frames, the collision radius for the stage changes to 0.0 units.
    • For subsequent projectiles, the initial collision radius is 0.047 units larger than the previous projectile for players, and 0 units smaller for the stage. After the collision size changes, the radius is 0.47 units larger than the previous projectile for players, and 0 units smaller for the stage.

Sheldon's Introduction

The Sloshing Machine Neo isn't so much an upgrade from the basic Sloshing Machine as a...side-grade. It has the same basic ability to slosh ink all over the place. But it has a new look and a new loadout to play with—including the Point Sensor sub! Throw one down to mark enemy positions, then put 'em in the splat cycle with your main. If you've got stubborn enemy ink stains that just won't come out, that's when it's time to fire up the Trizooka special. I'll put it this way... it's not for delicates! This set is great for players who want to put the other team in a permanent press and see a sparkling clean sweep at the end.

SRL Ballistics here with more pre-weekend weapon research. Here's the Sloshing Machine Neo, a Sloshing Machine that's been upgraded with a sticker. The sticker has no practical effect. However, the set comes with Point Sensors and the popular Trizooka special!

Trivia

  • In Splatoon, at 28,500 cash, the Sloshing Machine Neo is the most expensive slosher and the third most expensive weapon.
  • The Sloshing Machine Neo has the Point Sensor as its sub weapon in all three Splatoon games.

Etymology

Sloshing Machine Neo is a pun derived from the verb to slosh and Washing Machine, plus the suffix Neo, Ancient Greek for new. The suffix Neo is also used to differentiate it from the Sloshing Machine. This trait is shared among the other alternate sets of the Neo brand.

スクリュースロッシャーネオ Sukuryū Surosshā Neo is derived from Screw and the verb to slosh, plus the suffix Neo. Screw likely refers to spinning motion of this weapon's projectile. Like the English name, Neo is also used to differentiate it from Screw Slosher.
