H-3 Nozzlenose

From Inkipedia, the Splatoon wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

The H-3 Nozzlenose is main weapon in Splatoon and Splatoon 2. It is the Heavy version of the L-3 Nozzlenose. Unlike most other Shooters, pressing Button1 ZR.png will automatically fire 3 bullets at a time. In comparison to the L-3 Nozzlenose, the bullets have increased attack power, capable of splatting enemies in 1 burst if all 3 bullets land on the target. However, it has a lower fire rate than the L-3 Nozzlenose.

  • When initially firing the weapon in humanoid form, the first shot takes 3 frames to come out.
  • When firing from squid or octopus form, the first shot takes 12 frames to come out.
  • When pressing Button1 ZR.png, three shots will be fired at a time, as long as there is enough ink to fire all three.
    • If there is not enough ink to fire all three shots, then zero, one or two shots will be fired instead, depending on how much ink is left in the ink tank.
  • When firing a burst, each shot is fired at a rate of 5 frames between shots.
  • After the last shot in a burst is fired, another burst cannot be fired for 20 frames.
  • When firing while moving, the player's movement speed is set to 0.45 units per frame.
  • After firing, there is a 30 frame cooldown before the ink tank starts refilling.

Sheldon's Introduction

The H-3 Nozzlenose is a semiautomatic with more firepower than its S Weapon Main L-3 Nozzlenose.png L-3 twin. The H stands for "heavy"! It can't fire as rapidly, but you can pinpoint foes with the S Weapon Special Echolocator.png Echolocator to make every shot count! S Weapon Sub Suction Bomb.png Suction Bombs can also make an effective defense, so this set is a good choice for well-rounded fighters!(NA)[a]

A S Weapon Main L-3 Nozzlenose.png Nozzlenose that packs even more of a punch. A long interval between shots is made up for by high attack power, which makes splatting your opponent in one go a real possibility.

Listen up squids! This here is the H-3 Nozzlenose. You want a weapon that packs a wallop and also kind of looks like a garden hose rolled up? This here’s your pick. A long interval between shots is made up for by high attack power. With the H-3 Nozzlenose, a one-hit kill is a real possibility.

The H-3 Nozzlenose returns in Splatoon 2 looking identical to how it did in the first game. It comes with the Point Sensors and Tenta Missiles.

Data

  • The H-3 Nozzlenose is a middleweight weapon.
  • The ink consumption of 1.8% and ink tank capacity of 100% allows players to fire 55 shots before needing to refill the ink supply.
  • When initially firing the weapon in humanoid form, the first shot takes 3 frames to come out.
  • When firing from squid or octopus form, the first shot takes 12 frames to come out.
  • The interval between firing and when the player is able to become a squid or use a sub weapon is 4 frames.
  • When firing while moving, the player's movement speed is set to 0.6 units per frame.
  • After firing, there is a 25 frame cooldown before the ink tank starts refilling.
  • Each shot has a base damage of 41.
  • If a shot is in the air for more than 8 frames after being fired, it loses 1.28125 damage per frame until it reaches 20.5 damage at frame 24.
  • Shots have a radius of 2 units.
  • The angle its shots can deviate while on the ground is 1 degrees.
  • The angle its shots can deviate while in the air is 1 degrees.
  • The outer reticle immediately expands after jumping. After 20 frames, the outer reticle will start shrinking, and will finish shrinking after 50 frames.
  • The H-3 Nozzlenose starts off having a 1% chance to shoot towards the outer reticle instead of the inner reticle.
    • This chance increases by 1% per shot, and maximizes at a 25% chance to shoot towards the outer reticle, meaning that it takes 24 shots to reach minimum accuracy.
  • When jumping, the chance to shoot towards the outer reticle instead of the inner reticle is immediately set to 40%.
  • When not shooting, the chance to shoot towards the outer reticle decreases by 0.5% per frame, if the chance is not already at the minimum, meaning that it takes 48 frames to reach maximum accuracy. (78 after shooting while jumping.)
  • Shots initially travel at a rate of 28.75 units per frame for 4 frames, having an effective range of 115 units.
    • After that, the shot's velocity is set to 22.698 units if it is not already lower than the listed value, and decreases further as it falls to the ground.
  • Ink droplets occur every 60 units.
  • The frequency at which ink drips from a shot occurs at a rate of 3 droplets per shot.
  • There are a total of 5 different droplet patterns that can be created while firing this weapon.
  • Droplets that occur within 11 units of the player have a radius of 21 units, and a width of 13.5 units.
    • These droplets have their radius multiplied by a value ranging from 1.2 if they fell from a height above 100 units to 1.4 if they fell from a height below 30 units.
  • Droplets that occur when they travel past 200 units of the player have a radius of 21 units.
  • All other ink droplets have a radius of 14.2 units.
  • Droplets that are far from the player and all other droplets have their radius multiplied by a value ranging from 1 if they fell from a height above 100 units to 1.2 if they fell from a height below 30 units.
  • If no ink droplets have occurred within 11 units of the player for 3 shots, the next shot the player makes will force a paint droplet to appear at the player's feet. This ensures that firing a single burst will always paint the player's feet, so long as they have enough ink to fire all 3 shots.

Sheldon's Introduction

The H-3 Nozzlenose here offers a stronger triple-burst shooter experience than the S2 Weapon Main L-3 Nozzlenose.png L-3 Nozzlenose. Seek out your opponent's location with the S2 Weapon Sub Point Sensor.png Point Sensor, and unleash a triple blast to splat 'em before they know what hit 'em! You can use the S2 Weapon Special Tenta Missiles.png Tenta Missiles. to check and mark an opponent's location. I recommend this set for the Inkling who wants to bring out the best in their main weapon.

Trivia

  • The Nozzlenose family of weapons are visually designed after garden hose reels. This is also reflected in their names in some other languages.
  • The H in the name means "Heavy", referring that this weapon is the heavier version of the Nozzlenose weapons.
    • This is supported by the French, Russian, and both Spanish translations of the weapon.
  • The H-3 Nozzlenose and its variants are the only weapons with a unique kill sound effect (which is played after all three shots from a single trigger pull hit an enemy and splat them) that no other weapons have.
  • This weapon is used in the following Octo Expansion level:
  • This weapon is tied with the Neo Sploosh-o-matic and Octobrush Nouveau for the cheapest Tenta Missiles in the game (170 p).
