Spawning Accordo
Can you help us get it done?
Spawning Accordos are Jelleton enemies in Splatoon 3: Side Order. They move very slowly and attack by spawning Homing Arpeggios.
Description
Spawning Accordos are mechanical fish mostly encased in black ink. They are internally white, except their red eyes, which pop out of their sockets. Spawning Accordos have an esca on the top of their head that branches out into several seeds, which can release Homing Arpeggios to attack the player. They seem to be based on anglerfish. Certain species of anglerfish are known for their females being massive compared to their male counterparts, whom are able to "fuse" with females. There are typically multiple males attached to a female individual, resembling the relationship between the Spawning Accordo and its Homing Arpeggios.
While its esca resembles that of the football fish, it also resembles a ping-pong tree sponge; a species previously featured in Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion.
Strategy
- The seeds Spawning Accordos possess explode after being shot. If all of them are destroyed, the main body also explodes, damaging nearby Jelletons.
- The number of Homing Arpeggios a Spawning Accordo can spawn at once is equal to the number of seeds it has remaining. If the player cannot destroy them all in one attack, they should try to take out as many as possible to reduce the threat it can pose.
Quotes
The following text is quoted from the Jelleton Field Guide.
(1) |
The seeds growing out of them become missiles that home in on you. Never mind the base. Break all the seeds, and they'll self- destruct in a big explosion. |

Destroying at least SOME of the seeds is a good idea. Otherwise you'll wind up with missiles seeking you from every angle! |

That sounds like work! Can't we just go for the body? Ugh, looks like it has WAY too much health for that. |
Conclusion Treat those seeds like targets! |
