They are generated from the radio waves that [[Inkling|Inklings]] give off from their passion of Turf Wars, and they come out of the monitors near the lobby entrance. They have the opposite personality of the person they represent along with a lightning bolt in the middle of their forehead. For example, [[Goggles (character)|Goggles]], the main character, is a fun, silly inkling, while Shadow Goggles is mean-spirited and serious. Each character in the Splatoon manga is said to have a shadow version of themselves, but we are only able to see the shadow versions of Goggles, [[Headphones (character)|Headphones]], [[Bobble Hat (character)|Bobble Hat]], [[Specs]], [[Rider (character)|Rider]], [[Vintage]], Double Egg, and [[Emperor]]. Shadow versions of [[Gloves]], [[Prinz]], and [[Skull (character)|Skull]] are seen at the end of Shadow Battle #1, but do not appear in-battle. Each shadow inkling also posseses the same skills as it's original inkling.

==Battles==
There are three battles between the Original Inklings and the Shadow Inklings. However, at the time, only two have been published. They are:
 
* Battle #1: Original Team Blue vs. Shadow Team Specs at [[Inkblot Art Academy]]
Team Blue is faced with the task of defeating a team of 4x Shadow Specs. Near the end of the battle, Specs discovers that since they are the same, they can knock their glasses off to make a comeback. Team Blue wins.
 
* Battle #2: Original Team Supreme King vs Shadow Team Supreme King at [[Wahoo World]]
Team Supreme King consists of Rider, Vintage, Double Egg, and Emperor, the result of a Rock, Paper, Scissors before the match, in which Gloves, Prinz, Skull, lost. They do very well at first, but the shadows make a comeback by deflecting X-Zone and King Dodge Slide Attack with [[Ink Armor]] and using those moves against the original inklings. Team Shadow wins.

Shadow Inklings are from the Splatoon manga. They are generated from the radio waves that Inklings give off from their passion of Turf Wars, and they come out of the monitors near the lobby entrance. They have the opposite personality of the person they represent along with a lightning bolt in the middle of their forehead. For example, Goggles, the main character, is a fun, silly inkling, while Shadow Goggles is mean-spirited and serious. Each character in the Splatoon manga is said to have a shadow version of themselves, but we are only able to see the shadow versions of Goggles, Headphones, Bobble Hat, Specs, Rider, Vintage, Double Egg, and Emperor. Shadow versions of Gloves, Prinz, and Skull are seen at the end of Shadow Battle #1, but do not appear in-battle. Each shadow inkling also posseses the same skills as it's original inkling.
