Adjust Gear

In Splatoon 3, as of Version 5.0.0, players have the ability to Adjust Gear with . This slightly modifies the appearance of certain pieces of gear. Currently, the two forms of adjustment available involve resizing certain T-shirt-styled clothing items or rotating certain baseball cap-styled headgear items, both denoted by the presence of a circular double-arrow icon on the gear's tag. Adjustments may be performed from the Equip screen and within shops, allowing the player to demonstrate the adjusted state of gear they do not yet own.

Adjusting headgear

Currently, adjustable headgear consists exclusively of caps. Adjusting a cap simply flips it backwards, except for the Backward Cap, which can now be worn front-facing. Even adjusted, the Squidvader Cap and Urchins Cap keep their angle. Not all caps are adjustable, most notably the Five-Panel Cap, Jet Cap and Lightweight Cap which share a base model. The reason for this is unknown.

Adjusting clothing

There is a larger selection of adjustable clothing items than headgear items, all of which are tees. Adjusting a tee turns it into an oversized version of itself; in the case of the already oversized Berry BlobMob Tee and Lime BlobMob Tee, adjusting turns them into form-fitting versions. Tees with larger designs may look slightly deformed compared to their original appearance.

Tees which ordinarily have modifications based on the player's style choice undergo additional changes. The Basic Tee normally pins the junior mark squid badge in the top-right corner of the logo for feminine styles and in the bottom-left corner for masculine styles, while the Octosquid Tandem Tee pins the squid-octopus badge on the yellow half of the tee for feminine styles and on the black half for masculine styles; adjusting either tee defaults to the masculine placement of the badges. Lastly, the Takoroka \m/ Crab has a slightly different texture and coloration between the feminine, masculine and adjusted styles.
