Appearance
The Octo Tee is a dark purple short-sleeved shirt. It is decorated with Inkling (or possibly Octarian) text formed by rows of small rhinestones, with two large letters on the front and a line of smaller letters on the lower back. At the left side of the hem is a small green tag with the Cuttlegear logo in white, and the shirt is accompanied by two black wristbands with dark gray octopus designs.
Splatoon
Abilities
The Octo Tee comes with Haunt as a main ability, which, being exclusive to the main slot of Clothing, prevents the wearer from also having Cold Blooded, Ninja Squid, or Recon. As a 3-star item, the Octo Tee has three additional slots for secondary abilities. Since it is made by the Cuttlegear brand, it has equal chances to roll any secondary ability.
Splatoon 2
Abilities
The Octo Tee comes with Haunt as a main ability when purchased from shop or ordered from Murch, which, being exclusive to the main slot of Clothing, prevents the wearer from also having Ability Doubler, Ninja Squid, Respawn Punisher, or Thermal Ink. When purchased from SplatNet 2, it can have any other ability normally available to Clothing. As a 3-star item, the Octo Tee has three additional slots for secondary abilities. Since it is made by the Cuttlegear brand, it has equal chances to roll any secondary ability.
Trivia
- The front symbols on the shirt loosely resemble the Japanese word for "octopus" (たこ), while the back has text resembling the English word "octopus". This is in contrast to shirts such as the
White Tee and
Yellow Layered LS which have symbols resembling both the English and Japanese word for "squid" (いか).
- One of the rhinestones from the front symbol of the shirt seems to have fallen off as there appears to be missing one bead in the bottom-right corner of the symbol.
- This item, along with
Black Cuttlegear LS,
Octarian Retro and
Red Cuttlegear LS, were the first
Cuttlegear gear items to be made available in shops.
- The price of
8,888 is a reference to the eight legs on an octopus, which the shirt is themed on. Similar theming of the number eight is prevalent throughout the Octo Expansion.
