In Splatoon, it is a 2-star item produced by Takoroka and comes with the primary ability Defense Up. It can be purchased from Jelly Fresh for 1,800.
In Splatoon 2, it is a 2-star item produced by Takoroka and comes with the primary ability Bomb Defense Up DX. It can be purchased from Ye Olde Cloth Shoppe for 1,800 or from SplatNet Gear Shop for 3,600.
The Slipstream United is a soccer jersey with dark blue and red vertical stripes. The sleeves and collar are lined with white, on the left arm is a yellow armband with a black Takoroka logo, and up to each shoulder is a row of white chevrons. There is a smaller Takoroka logo on the right side of the chest in white and a small green and white crest on the left with three yellow stars above it. Below the logo and crest is a white Inkling word. On the back is white writing in Inkling, and the number 10.
The Slipstream United comes with Defense Up as a main ability. As a 2-star item, the Slipstream United has two additional slots for secondary abilities. Since it is made by the Takoroka brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Special Charge Up and a lower chance of rolling Special Duration Up to fill its secondary ability slots.
The Slipstream United comes with Bomb Defense Up DX as a main ability when purchased from shop or ordered from Murch. When purchased from SplatNet 2, it can have any other ability normally available to Clothing. As a 2-star item, the Slipstream United has two additional slots for secondary abilities. Since it is made by the Takoroka brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Special Charge Up and a lower chance of rolling Special Power Up to fill its secondary ability slots.

- The Slipstream United resembles the home jersey worn by FC Barcelona. Since the back of the jersey contains what resembles a 10, this may also a reference to one of FC Barcelona's players Lionel Messi.
