Cycle King Jersey

The Cycle King Jersey is a piece of clothing in the Splatoon series.

In Splatoon, it is a 3-star item produced by Tentatek and comes with the primary ability Defense Up. It can be purchased from Jelly Fresh for 8,900.

In Splatoon 2, it is a 3-star item produced by Tentatek and comes with the primary ability Bomb Defense Up DX. It can be purchased from Ye Olde Cloth Shoppe for 8,900 or from SplatNet 2 Gear Shop for 13,350.

In Splatoon 3, it is a 2-star item produced by Tentatek and comes with the primary ability Sub Resistance Up. It can be purchased from Man-o'-Wardrobe for 8,900 or from SplatNet 3 Shop for 13,350.

Appearance

The Cycle King Jersey is a short-sleeved zip-up jacket with a slightly higher collar than most shirts. It is mainly white with large polka dots, but the sleeves and collar are solid. The polka dots, sleeves, and collar change color to match that of the wearer's ink, with the polka dots being lighter than the sleeves and collar. On the right side of the chest is a somewhat small Tentatek logo in black.

Splatoon

The Cycle King Jersey debuted in Splatoon in version 2.0.0.

Abilities

The Cycle King Jersey comes with Defense Up as the primary ability. As a 3-star item, the Cycle King Jersey comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. Since it is made by the Tentatek gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Ink Recovery Up and a lower chance of rolling Quick Super Jump to fill its secondary ability slots.

Splatoon 2

The Cycle King Jersey returns in Splatoon 2 at release.

The Cycle King Jersey returns in Splatoon 3's Fresh Season 2023 in version 3.0.0.

The Cycle King Jersey comes with Sub Resistance Up as the primary ability when purchased from a shop or ordered from Murch. When purchased from SplatNet 3, it comes with any other primary ability normally available to Clothing (with the exception of Ability Doubler). As a 2-star item, the Cycle King Jersey comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. The star level may be increased with Super Sea Snails for 1 (first), 1 (second), 5 (third), 10 (fourth), or 20 (fifth) Super Sea Snails per star, or by purchasing additional copies of it from Man-o'-Wardrobe for 10,000 (first), 30,000 (second), 50,000 (third), 100,000 (fourth), or 200,000 (fifth) Cash per star. Increasing the star level beyond 2 stars will increase the gear experience gained by a cumulative 3.333…% up to 10% additional experience at 5-star level. Since it is made by the Tentatek gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Ink Recovery Up and a lower chance of rolling Quick Super Jump to fill its secondary ability slots.

Trivia

The Cycle King Jersey is the most expensive Tentatek gear in Splatoon, but not in Splatoon 2, having a lower price than the Amber Sea Slug Hi-Tops.
The appearance and name are both a reference to the "King of the Mountains" jersey awarded in the Tour de France.
