Frivolous Paw Suit

The Frivolous Paw Suit is a piece of clothing in the Splatoon series.

It is a 1-star item produced by SquidForce and comes with the primary ability Special Charge Up. It is only available from Wandercrust. It cannot be ordered from another player.

This item is the reward for completing Journey 4 in Wandercrust.

Appearance

The Frivolous Paw Suit mimics the pattern of Judd's fur. It is a short-sleeved white shirt with a black bow-tie and black suspenders attached to a pair of black shorts. It is accompanied by a pair of three-fingered clawless black paw gloves with light pink pads.

Abilities

The Frivolous Paw Suit comes with Special Charge Up as the primary ability when purchased from a shop or ordered from Murch. When purchased from SplatNet 3, it comes with any other primary ability normally available to Clothing (with the exception of Ability Doubler). As a 1-star item, the Frivolous Paw Suit comes with two additional slots for secondary abilities. The star level may be increased with Super Sea Snails for 1 (first), 1 (second), 5 (third), 10 (fourth), or 20 (fifth) Super Sea Snails per star, or by purchasing additional copies of it from Man-o'-Wardrobe for 10,000 (first), 30,000 (second), 50,000 (third), 100,000 (fourth), or 200,000 (fifth) Cash per star. Increasing the star level to 2 stars will add another secondary ability slot for a total of three slots. Increasing the star level beyond 2 stars will increase the gear experience gained by a cumulative 3.333…% up to 10% additional experience at 5-star level. Since it is made by the SquidForce gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Ink Resistance Up and a lower chance of rolling Ink Saver (Main) to fill its secondary ability slot.

Trivia

Along with the Enchanted Robe B and the Order Suit Replica, the Frivolous Paw Suit is one of the three gear pieces in Splatoon 3 that will override a player's choice of leg garments.

Etymology

Frivolous Paw Suit is a pun on "frivolous lawsuit", a legal term for lawsuits which are filed with apparent disregard for the merits of their own arguments, and "paw". Like the Burden of Floof and Judicial Hearing, the legal pun in the gear's name likely alludes to Judd's role as the "judge" of matches.
