Judicial Hearing
The Judicial Hearing is headgear in Splatoon 3.
It is a 1-star item produced by SquidForce and comes with the primary ability Opening Gambit. It is only available from Wandercrust. It cannot be ordered from another player.
This item is the reward for completing Journey 6 in Wandercrust.
Appearance
The Judicial Hearing mimics Judd's ears. It is a black and white headband with cat ears sticking out on top of the band. The ears are the same color as the headband, with the inner part of the ears being light pink in coloration.

Abilities
The Judicial Hearing comes with Opening Gambit as the primary ability, which, being exclusive to the main slot of Headgear, prevents the wearer from also having Comeback, Last-Ditch Effort, or Tenacity. As a 1-star item, the Judicial Hearing comes with two additional slots for secondary abilities. The star level may be increased with Super Sea Snails for 1 (first), 1 (second), 5 (third), 10 (fourth), or 20 (fifth) Super Sea Snails per star, or by purchasing additional copies of it from Naut Couture for 10,000 (first), 30,000 (second), 50,000 (third), 100,000 (fourth), or 200,000 (fifth) Cash per star. Increasing the star level to 2 stars will add another secondary ability slot for a total of three slots. Increasing the star level beyond 2 stars will increase the gear experience gained by a cumulative 3.333…% up to 10% additional experience at 5-star level. Since it is made by the SquidForce gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Ink Resistance Up and a lower chance of rolling Ink Saver (Main) to fill its secondary ability slot.
Etymology
"Judicial Hearing" is a pun making use of the double meaning of "hearing" as both a type of legal proceeding, as well as the physiological sense of hearing (as this gear is a set of imitation ears). Like the Frivolous Paw Suit and Burden of Floof, the legal pun in the gear's name likely alludes to Judd's role as the "judge" of matches.
