Abilities

The Tennis Headband comes with Comeback as the primary ability, which, being exclusive to the main slot of Headgear, prevents the wearer from also having Last-Ditch Effort, Opening Gambit, or Tenacity. As a 1-star item, the Tennis Headband comes with one additional slot for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with a Super Sea Snail or 30,000 cash for each slot. Since it is made by the Tentatek brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Ink Recovery Up and a lower chance of rolling Quick Super Jump to fill its secondary ability slot.

Abilities

As a 1-star item, the Tennis Headband comes with two additional slots for secondary abilities. The star level may be increased with a Super Sea Snail, or by purchasing additional copies of it from Naut Couture for 10,000 (first), 30,000 (second), 50,000 (third), 100,000 (fourth), or 200,000 (fifth) Cash per star. Increasing the star level to 1 or 2 stars will also add another secondary ability slot to the Tennis Headband. Increasing the star level beyond 2 stars will increase the gear experience gained by the Tennis Headband by a cumulative 3.333...% up to 10% additional experience at five-star level. Since it is made by the Tentatek brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Ink Recovery Up and a lower chance of rolling Quick Super Jump to fill its secondary ability slot.

Trivia

  • The Tennis Headband is the cheapest piece of gear with Comeback in Splatoon and is tied with the B-ball Headband for cheapest purchasable headgear in the game. With the addition of the Swim Goggles and Toni Kensa Goggles in Splatoon 2, it is no longer the cheapest gear with Comeback or cheapest headgear overall.
  • The Tennis Headband was originally white instead of black. This can be seen in a few images released before Splatoon was finalized.
