ZedFry Funface

The ZedFry Funface is headgear in Splatoon 3.

It is a 2-star item produced by SquidForce and comes with the primary ability Special Saver. It is available from the Switch News channel as a promotion for the Palace vs. Theme Park vs. Beach Splatfest. It cannot be ordered from another player.

Appearance

The ZedFry Funface is a Japanese festival mask depicting the face of ZedFry, Z+F's mascot character. The eyes have holes for visibility and the mask's color changes based on the wearer's ink color.

Abilities

The ZedFry Funface comes with Special Saver as the primary ability. As a 2-star item, the ZedFry Funface comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. The star level may be increased with Super Sea Snails for 1 (first), 1 (second), 5 (third), 10 (fourth), or 20 (fifth) Super Sea Snails per star, or by purchasing additional copies of it from Naut Couture for 10,000 (first), 30,000 (second), 50,000 (third), 100,000 (fourth), or 200,000 (fifth) Cash per star. Increasing the star level beyond 2 stars will increase the gear experience gained by a cumulative 3.333…% up to 10% additional experience at 5-star level. Since it is made by the SquidForce gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Ink Resistance Up and a lower chance of rolling Ink Saver (Main) to fill its secondary ability slots.

Trivia

ZedFry Funface is the only piece of gear featuring ZedFry in its design that is not made by Z+F.

Etymology

ZedFry is a mascot of the Z+F collaboration brand, whose name is a combination of Zed, the first letter of the brand Zekko, and FishFry, the mascot of the brand Firefin.
