Dev Uniform
The Dev Uniform is a piece of clothing in Splatoon 2.
It is a 3-star item produced by Grizzco and comes with a random primary ability generated when it is received. It is only available as a reward from Salmon Run as the monthly gear or in a Pink Capsule. It cannot be ordered from another player.
In Splatoon 3, it is a 2-star item produced by Grizzco and comes with the ability Ink Saver (Main).
Appearance
The Dev Uniform is a black long sleeve zipped up polo jacket with a logo on the left chest. The article of clothing is also adorned with a name tag with what may be Japanese and an ID card attached to a lanyard with a picture of a jellyfish, the lanyard changes color to match the player's ink.
Splatoon 2
The Dev Uniform was first added on 1 October 2018 at 00:00 UTC as the monthly reward for October 2018.[1]
Abilities
The Dev Uniform comes with a random primary ability that can also appear as secondary abilities, which prevents the wearer from having Ability Doubler, Haunt, Ninja Squid, Respawn Punisher, or Thermal Ink as they are exclusive to Clothing and cannot appear as secondary abilities. This primary ability is assigned randomly when the item is received. As a 3-star item, the Dev Uniform comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. Since it is made by the Grizzco gear brand, it has equal chances to roll any secondary ability.
Splatoon 3





The Dev Uniform returns in Splatoon 3 as part of Fresh Season 2024. It can only be obtained with fish scales.
Abilities
The Dev Uniform comes with Ink Saver (Main) as the primary ability. As a 2-star item, the Dev Uniform comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. The star level may be increased with Super Sea Snails for 1 (first), 1 (second), 5 (third), 10 (fourth), or 20 (fifth) Super Sea Snails per star. Increasing the star level beyond 2 stars will increase the gear experience gained by a cumulative 3.333…% up to 10% additional experience at 5-star level. Since it is made by the Grizzco gear brand, it has equal chances to roll any secondary ability.
