Haunt
Haunt is an ability in Splatoon and Splatoon 2.
Haunt tracks the opponent that defeated the player. Haunt is restricted to clothing as a main ability.
Splatoon
Haunt marks the opponent that defeated the player with a position-tracking mark for 9 seconds. This mark can be seen by the player with the ability and their team, similar to File:S Weapon Point Sensor .png [[]] or File:S Weapon Echolocator .png [[]]. Haunt activates automatically if the player gets splatted by another Inkling. Its effect is reduced by Lua error in Module:Ability at line 29: attempt to concatenate local 'linkText' (a nil value)..
Haunt also has a Lua error in Module:Ability at line 29: attempt to concatenate local 'linkText' (a nil value)., Lua error in Module:Ability at line 29: attempt to concatenate local 'linkText' (a nil value)., and Lua error in Module:Ability at line 29: attempt to concatenate local 'linkText' (a nil value). effect when the player with Haunt is marked by File:S Weapon Point Sensor .png [[]], File:S Weapon Echolocator .png [[]], or Haunt.
Mutual exclusivity
This ability is found as the main ability only on clothing, so other abilities found only on shoes are mutually exclusive with it; in other words players cannot have them together. These abilities are Lua error in Module:Ability at line 29: attempt to concatenate local 'linkText' (a nil value)., Lua error in Module:Ability at line 29: attempt to concatenate local 'linkText' (a nil value)., and Lua error in Module:Ability at line 29: attempt to concatenate local 'linkText' (a nil value).. In addition, since wearing the File:Splatoon Gear Splatfest Tee White Headband.png White Headband is mandatory during a Splatfest, these abilities cannot be used for the duration of those events.
Use
Haunt is good for players who usually play on the flanks or run support, or try and stop enemies from out-flanking their team. This is because if a flank or back is lost, then the team is notified that an enemy may be coming up from the behind.
Teammates should be able to avenge their fallen allies much more easily.
Because of its interaction with File:S Weapon Point Sensor .png [[]] and File:S Weapon Echolocator .png [[]], Haunt can be considered a pseudo-counter ability for these sub and special weapons.
