Ability Doubler is an ability that doubles the effect of each sub slot. As a result, each sub ability is 60% as effective as a main ability. It is exclusive to the Splatfest Tee in Splatoon 2.

Mutual exclusivity

This ability is found as the main ability only on clothing, so other abilities found only on clothing are mutually exclusive with it; in other words players cannot have them together. These abilities are Haunt, Ninja Squid, Respawn Punisher, and Thermal Ink. In addition, since wearing the Splatfest Tee is mandatory during a Splatfest, these abilities cannot be used for the duration of those events.

Trivia

• Competitively, an optimal use of Ability Doubler is with three different subs, as certain combinations of specific amounts of ability points for abilities can only be achieved with Ability Doubler; however at the cost of 1 ability point (for example, using 2 or 3 of the same sub is 1 ability point less effective than gear with 1 main + 1 sub or 1 main + 3 subs of that ability respectively).
  • Ability Doubler is exclusive to the Splatfest Tee, and will be reset after a Splatfest.
