Gear vs. Grub vs. Fun was the first Splatfest in the full game of Splatoon 3 (the very first being Rock vs. Paper vs. Scissors, in the Splatoon 3 Splatfest World Premiere), announced on 13 September 2022 in a Nintendo Direct. It was held in all regions.

The theme for this Splatfest is what to bring to a deserted island. The full name of each choice is "I'm Team Gear on the deserted island!", "I'm Team Grub on the deserted island!", and "I'm Team Fun on the deserted island!". The short name of each choice is Gear, Grub, and Fun. Hammerhead Bridge was the stage playable in Tricolor Turf War during this Splatfest.
