うすしお vs コンソメ vs のりしお (Lightly Salted vs. Consommé vs. Salted Seaweed), also known as ポテトチップスフェス (Potato Chips Fest), was a collaboration Splatfest event exclusive to the Japan region in Splatoon 3. It was the first Splatfest to take place during Fresh Season 2024. The event was announced on social networks on 29 February 2024.[1]
The Americas/Oceania, Europe, and Hong Kong/South Korea regions' Drums vs. Guitar vs. Keyboard Splatfest took place concurrently with this Splatfest.
Details
This Splatfest was part of a collaboration with Japanese snack manufacturing company Calbee. The three potato chip flavor options represented by the three teams are based on real-life products and the team icons are based on the products' packaging.
This was the third Splatfest in Splatoon 3 to differ by region: players who had selected the Japan region were able to participate in this Splatfest, whereas players who have selected the Americas/Oceania, Europe, or Hong Kong/South Korea regions instead were able to participate in the Drums vs. Guitar vs. Keyboard Splatfest as a combined group, which was being held at the same time.
The Tricolor Turf War stage for this Splatfest was Flounder Heights.

Trivia
- Unlike most Splatfests in Splatoon 3, this Splatfest's icons feature their team names written in a kana-based script (whereas most Splatfests feature their team name or a related word mimicked in a letter-based script).
- This is also the only one with icons that omit speech bubbles but still mimic team-related words (displayed on the front of the potato chip bags).
- Since this Splatfest is exclusive to Japan, the related dialogues for Anarchy Splatcast are not available in languages other than Japanese.
- When the system language is set to English or other European languages, the game starts normally in the selected language, but the Splatfest-specific dialogues are displayed in Japanese.
- When the system language is set to Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese or Korean, the game is forced to reload into Japanese.
- After getting the final results announcement and receiving Super Sea Snails, the game automatically reloads back into the system language.
- Alongside Drums vs. Guitar vs. Keyboard, this Splatfest was the first Splatfest in Splatoon 3:
- To feature the option to adjust Splatfest Tees.
- To feature Fizzbangs.
- To feature Off the Hook performing in Inkopolis Square.
- To be announced after the following Splatfest.
- To feature Off the Hook and Fire & Ice's new battle song, Suffer No Fools.
- To feature the new scoring system in which the second place team also receives points.
- This is the second Splatfest to occur in the same month as a Big Run, following Shiver vs. Frye vs. Big Man.
- This is the sixth Splatfest in Splatoon 3 to have a food theme, following Spicy vs. Sweet vs. Sour, Dark Chocolate vs. Milk Chocolate vs. White Chocolate, Vanilla vs. Strawberry vs. Mint Chip, Kaiten-yaki vs. Ōban-yaki vs. Imagawa-yaki, and Red Bean Paste vs. Custard vs. Whipped Cream.
- This is the third of four Splatfests in Splatoon 3 to feature plain-colored Splatfest Tees instead of tie-dye ones, following Grass vs. Fire vs. Water and Power vs. Wisdom vs. Courage, and preceding Past vs. Present vs. Future.
- Both this Splatfest and the former two are collaborations with real-life brands, with the former two being owned by Nintendo. Thus meaning that this is the only Splatfest to collaborate with a third-party brand.
