ThInk is an ongoing Splatoon online tournament series featuring fixed weapon sets for each round, where learning is more important than winning. It is intended to promote discussion of strengths, weaknesses, and strategies of various situations while providing practical experience in a competitive setting to back up the theory.
Format
To minimize the number of games for teams to think about while allowing each team to play every game, ThInk tournaments use the Swiss format. Each match consists of exactly three games and the team that wins two or three games wins the set. Maps and modes are chosen by the tournament organizer, who also chooses four weapons which must be used by every team for each round. Maps and weapons are released one or two weeks before the tournament to give teams time to discuss and practice strategies.
Events
Tournaments have a monthly cadence, occurring on Wednesday evenings/Thursday mornings.
ThInk
The first tournament was on January 4th 2017 and had 10 participants.
