SplatNet 2
SplatNet 2 is an online service for Splatoon 2, created by Nintendo, which allows players to view upcoming stages, personal statistics, interact with friends, and buy exclusive gear. SplatNet 2 was announced in the Splatoon 2 Nintendo Direct on 6 July 2017 and launched through the Nintendo Switch Online App, available on mobile devices, on the same day as Splatoon 2. A Nintendo Account is required to use this service and Splatoon 2 must have been played on a Nintendo Switch linked to a Nintendo Account.
Pages
Home
This is the page that is automatically opened when starting up SplatNet 2.
Sections
- Player Stats
This section located at the top of the page shows the player's Nintendo Account name, level, Ranked Battle rankings, and total turf inked, all of which are listed over their favorite color (one of six, cycled via the upper-right dashed-circle). This section also shows the player's favourite stage (changed by tapping on its name), as well as the player's current loadout of Main Weapon, Sub Weapon and Special Weapon, its Freshness Rating, total turf inked, and gear with abilities. There is also a share button allowing players to share this information to social media.
- Splatfest
If a Splatfest has been announced in-game by Pearl and Marina, a Splatfest section will appear detailing the two sides which can be picked as well as the date/s of the Splatfest. Upon tapping this section, the Splatfest section will be opened. Here, the times of the Splatfest are shown and the teams that Nintendo Switch friends have chosen will be displayed here too. The 'Splatfest Stats' can be opened by going back on the top left of the screen. Here, all previously completed Splatfests and their scores will be displayed. The Top 100 of each team will also be shown with the top 5's weapons, gear and Splatfest Power being shown.
- CPOD FM
CPOD FM is where all of the latest Splatoon 2 news appears. This includes new weapons from Sheldon, the current stages, statistics for the last four battles from Judd, whether Salmon Run is able to be currently played as well as future shifts, SplatNet 2 gear that is about to expire, the player's Lifetime Inkage, and if a Ranked Battle rank has increased.
Stages
The Stage Info screen shows the upcoming stages for Regular Battle, Ranked Battle, and League Battle for the next 24 hours. Tapping on a stage brings up the player's current win percentages for Ranked Battles. A pink arrow on the side of the page shows how far through the current rotation is. The times shown are linked to the region specified by a Nintendo Account.

Directly below these words the players all time ink points will be displayed, separated by the amount inked while playing either overall or as Octoling. Underneath that it will show how many points the player must ink in order to cover the next milestone. Turf inked as an Octoling counts toward the Inkling milestones, but not the other way around. Also clicking on this section will give the player more information about their lifetime ink total. Below this is Weapon Stats. It will show the player's lifetime ink total for three weapons. Clicking on this section will bring up another section showing the players stats for every weapon ever used. It will show the number of wins, lifetime ink total, and vibe of that weapon. It will also show the Sub and Special of the weapon. And at the bottom of the page it will display the players best league battles, Agent 4 stats, Splatfest stats, and Network failures.

On this page the player's stats for the past 50 battles will be displayed. At the top of the page it will show wins, losses, average splats per battles, and average special uses per battle. Below this there is a share button. Further down will be a list of the battles showing if the player won or lost, the stage, how many points they had, and what weapon they used. The battles will also be divided into modes. If the user clicks on any of these battles a page will show up with almost the same information as when the player completes a battle in the actual game. There is also a share button on this page.

SplatNet Gear Shop (Japanese: ゲソタウン geso taun, tentacles town) is an online retail service run by Annie. A new piece of gear will be available every two hours and is available for 10 hours in total. Once the time is up, the gear disappears and is unable to be purchased. There will only be 6 items available at one time.
All orders can be picked up from Murch in Inkopolis Square immediately after ordering. The gear available for purchase can be found again later with different main abilities. However, only one type of gear can be held at one time so if one orders a duplicate with a different main ability one will need to choose which to keep and which to throw away once the player meets with Murch.
Only one piece of gear can be ordered at one time. If another piece of gear is ordered without the previous one being picked up in-game, the player is asked to replace the ordered item.
Pricing for items in the SplatNet Gear Shop is based on the rarity of the item. 1-star items are 2.5× the original price, 2-star items are 2× the original price, and 3-star items are 1.5× the original price.
Incorrect Gear abilities
A technical glitch about the SplatNet 2 Gear Shop in the Nintendo Switch Online app occured before Version 1.1.2. During a short amount of time after the servers went live, a few gear items paired up with incorrect gear abilities. For example, Ninja Squid, which is meant to only attach to clothing, was attached to shoes. This has been fixed and such gear items no longer appear in the Gear Shop.[1]
Pure Gear
A few gear items in the SplatNet 2 Shop received the main ability that favors the brand's common gear ability. This issue has been fixed. This gear items are:
- Berry Ski Jacket with Bomb Defense Up as the main ability made by the Inkline brand that favors the same ability.
- Blue Slip-Ons with Swim Speed Up as the main ablity made by the Krak-On brand that favors the same ability.
- Logo Aloha Shirt with Special Saver as the main ability made by the Zekko brand that favors the same ability.
- Snow Delta Straps with Bomb Defense Up as the main ability made by the Inkline brand that favors the same ability.
- Squid Squad Band Tee with Run Speed Up as the main ability made by the Rockenberg brand that favors the same ability.
- Wet Floor Band Tee with Run Speed Up as the main ability made by the Rockenberg brand that favors the same ability.
