Blue Slip-Ons
The Blue Slip-Ons(NA)[a] or Blue Plimsolls(EU/OC)[b], are a pair of shoes in the Splatoon series.
In Splatoon, they are a 1-star item produced by Krak-On and come with the primary ability Bomb Range Up. They can be purchased from Shrimp Kicks for 300.
In Splatoon 2, they are a 1-star item produced by Krak-On and come with the primary ability Sub Power Up. They can be purchased from Shella Fresh for 400 or from SplatNet 2 Gear Shop for 1,000.
In Splatoon 3, they are a 0-star item produced by Krak-On and come with the primary ability Sub Power Up. They can be purchased from Crush Station for 400 or from SplatNet 3 Shop for 1,000.
Appearance
The Blue Slip-Ons are a pair of dark blue canvas slip-ons with a thin stripe of lighter blue at the top of the tongue. The interior is white, the sole is yellow-orange, and the heel is a slightly darker blue. Krak-On's white and hot magenta name patch are in their talons while their logo is under the yellow sole.
Splatoon
The Blue Slip-Ons debuted in Splatoon at release.
Abilities
The Blue Slip-Ons come with Bomb Range Up as the primary ability. As a 1-star item, the Blue Slip-Ons come with one additional slot for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with a Super Sea Snail or 30,000 cash for each slot. Since they are made by the Krak-On gear brand, they have a higher chance of rolling Swim Speed Up and a lower chance of rolling Defense Up to fill their secondary ability slot.
Splatoon 2
The Blue Slip-Ons return in Splatoon 2 at release.
Abilities
The Blue Slip-Ons come with Sub Power Up as the primary ability when purchased from a shop or ordered from Murch. When purchased from SplatNet 2, they come with any other primary ability normally available to Shoes. As a 1-star item, the Blue Slip-Ons come with one additional slot for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with a Super Sea Snail for each slot. Since they are made by the Krak-On gear brand, they have a higher chance of rolling Swim Speed Up and a lower chance of rolling Bomb Defense Up DX to fill their secondary ability slot.
Splatoon 3
The Blue Slip-Ons return in Splatoon 3's Chill Season 2022 in version 2.0.0.
Abilities
The Blue Slip-Ons come with Sub Power Up as the primary ability when purchased from a shop or ordered from Murch. When purchased from SplatNet 3, they come with any other primary ability normally available to Shoes. As a 0-star item, the Blue Slip-Ons come with one additional slot for secondary abilities. The star level may be increased with Super Sea Snails for 1 (first), 1 (second), 5 (third), 10 (fourth), or 20 (fifth) Super Sea Snails per star, or by purchasing additional copies of them from Crush Station for 10,000 (first), 30,000 (second), 50,000 (third), 100,000 (fourth), or 200,000 (fifth) Cash per star. Increasing the star level to 1 or 2 stars will add a secondary ability slot per level, up to a maximum of three slots. Increasing the star level beyond 2 stars will increase the gear experience gained by a cumulative 3.333…% up to 10% additional experience at 5-star level. Since they are made by the Krak-On gear brand, they have a higher chance of rolling Swim Speed Up and a lower chance of rolling Sub Resistance Up to fill their secondary ability slots.

- At just 300, the Blue Slip-Ons are the cheapest purchasable gear with Bomb Range Up and Sub Power Up, and are tied with the Red Slip-Ons for the cheapest purchasable shoes. They are tied with the Red Slip-Ons, Sunny-Day Tee, and Rainy-Day Tee for cheapest Krak-On gear, and tied with the Red Slip-Ons, Sunny Day Tee, Rainy Day Tee, B-ball Headband, and Tennis Headband for cheapest purchasable gear overall in Splatoon, but not Splatoon 2, because of the Swim Goggles.
- A pair of Blue Slip-Ons sold in SplatNet 2 on 19 July 2017 10:00 UTC[1][2] had two different unintended primary abilities:
- At 11:26 UTC,[1] it had Ninja Squid, a main ability exclusive to clothing. Purchased Blue Slip-Ons with this ability were reverted to their default ability Sub Power Up in version 1.1.2.
- At 15:10 UTC,[3] it had Swim Speed Up, an ability favored by its brand Krak-On. Purchased Blue Slip-Ons with this ability do not appear to be reset.[Citation needed] The last "pure" gear item sold on SplatNet 2 was Snow Delta Straps with Bomb Defense Up on 15 August 2017.[4]
