Trivia

  • The Purple Hi-Horses were originally called "Purple Hi-tops", and had either Quick Respawn or Comeback as their main ability; the icon was ambiguous. They were also a 2-star item, and cost Cash 2,000 instead of Cash 800. This can be seen in an image released before Splatoon was finalized.
    • This suggests that the other types of Hi-Horses may have also been called "Hi-tops".
  • Inkling Boy's default variant wears the Purple Hi-Horses in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
