Mecha Legs - LBS

The Mecha Legs - LBS are a pair of shoes in Splatoon 2.

They are a 3-star item produced by SquidForce and come with the primary ability Object Shredder. They are only available as a CoroCoro Comic promotion in Japan. They cannot be ordered from another player.

CoroCoro Comic held a drawing competition for designing a new set of gear in which the winning design would get to be in the game. The set was released at 15 April 2019 for Japanese copies only. It includes the Mecha Head - HTR, Mecha Body - AKM, and Mecha Legs - LBS.

Appearance

The Mecha Legs - LBS are a pair of gray, blocky mechanical boots with several tubes strapped to the tongues of the shoes, the tubes are glowing and take on the ink color of the player. The front of the shoes are a grayish green. The shoes appear to not be entirely metal, as there are some fabrics in the design.

Abilities

The Mecha Legs - LBS come with Object Shredder as the primary ability, which, being exclusive to the main slot of Shoes, prevents the wearer from also having Drop Roller or Stealth Jump. As a 3-star item, the Mecha Legs - LBS come with three additional slots for secondary abilities. Since they are made by the SquidForce gear brand, they have a higher chance of rolling Ink Resistance Up and a lower chance of rolling Ink Saver (Main) to fill their secondary ability slots.

Trivia

  • This item was worn by Goggles, with the rest of the Mech gear, in Chapter 33 of the Splatoon manga for a short period of time.
    • It also seems that the character in the design for the gear is Goggles.
  • The Mecha Legs - LBS was supposed to have Stealth Jump but was changed to Object Shredder in version 4.6.1.
  • The codes for this gear expired on 31 December 2020, and therefore this gear is no longer obtainable.
  • The Mecha Legs are one of three shoes produced by SquidForce, the others being the Fry Tops and the Burden of Floof.
