Tentacles Helmet
The Tentacles Helmet is headgear in the Splatoon series.
It is a 3-star item produced by Forge and comes with the primary ability Run Speed Up. It can be purchased from Cooler Heads for 11,000.
Appearance
The Tentacles Helmet is an American football helmet that changes color to match that of the wearer's ink. On the sides is a black and white squid logo and down the middle is a thick green stripe edged with white. The chinstrap is white, and the face mask is a darker version of the wearer's ink color. On the forehead is a white rectangle with some Inkling text in black.
Splatoon
Abilities
The Tentacles Helmet comes with Run Speed Up as the primary ability. As a 3-star item, the Tentacles Helmet comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. Since it is made by the Forge gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Special Duration Up and a lower chance of rolling Ink Saver (Sub) to fill its secondary ability slots.
Trivia
- The Tentacles Helmet is the most expensive piece of gear with Run Speed Up in Splatoon. It is tied with the Blue Sailor Suit and Gas Mask for most expensive Forge gear.
- The Tentacles Helmet is the only piece of gear from Splatoon that's not part of a special promotion like the SQUID GIRL Gear, the Traditional Gear, the CoroCoro Gear, and all the gear produced by KOG, that has not returned in Splatoon 2, and is not rumored to be returning like the Octoling Armor and the Octoling Boots. The reason for this is unknown.
- Oddly enough, the Tentacles Helmet appeared in the March 8, 2018 Nintendo Direct, suggesting it would've returned in Version 3.0.0 (Splatoon 2), but it didn't.
- Two similar helmets, the Deca Tackle Visor Helmet and the Octo Tackle Helmet Deco, which also were featured in the Direct, were released in Version 3.0.0, and one other similar helmet, the Hockey Helmet, was released from the start.
