|-
|-
| S2 || Slosher || My currently most used weapon. Has a well-rounded kit for what it is supposed to do. Good at controlling zones, but somewhat struggling in close fights.
| S3 || Slosher || My old faithful. Has a well-rounded kit for what it is supposed to do. Good at controlling zones, but somewhat struggling in close fights.
|-
|-
| S2 || Slosher || My formerly most used weapon. Sloshing Machine Neo got the best parts of the Sloshing Machines in S, with the Point Sensors for tracking and Splat-Bomb Launcher to flush out areas.
| S3 || Slosher || Aah, the regular, standard Slosher. Its kit is very fun, but kinda similar to the Sloshing Machine in what it does. That said, I have always loved the unique aspects of the main weapon (in particular the whip-like fling).
|-
|-
| S2 || Roller || The Kensa kit is what the Dynamo needed to return as turfing monster. The entire kit is for turf control and thus one of my favorite picks for SZ.
| S3 || Slosher || In the third installment of Splatoon, Sloshing Machine got what is possibly its dream kit. Hoo boy is it bonkers. It is pretty similar to its S1 kit, except both the sub and special provide so much additional use value.
|-
|-
| S2 || Slosher || If it wasn't clear by now, I am pretty much a Slosher main. The regular kit might be better, but I am better at using Splat Bombs than Burst Bombs. Also, Ink Storm is one of my favorite specials to use.
| S3 || Brush || In the previous games, I've always liked the Octobrush more than the Inkbrush. Not the case in S3. Killer Wail 5.1 sounded initially like an absolute mismatch for the Inkbrush, but it suits it fantastically. Specials like Missile or Inkstrike probably would be better for it in a vacuum, but would only promote players to just paint and spam specials. Wail has a similar function to force players to move, but has to be followed up on. So Wail promotes Inkbrush users to engage in combat situations, constantly on the move, and being an overall nuisance to the opposing team.
|-
|-
| S2 || Splatling || My Splatling of choice. Point Sensors are always handy for long-range weapons, and the Booyah Bomb synergizes well with the Heavy Splatling main weapon.
| S3 || Brella || I want to like the vanilla kit, because it sounds good on paper. The Sorella kit is a ton of fun however! Ink Mine not only tracks intruding opponents, but also softens them up, making them easier to finish in one shot. Tent having Trizooka made me scratch my head at first, but firing Trizooka behind the shield is amazing.
|-
|-
| S2 || Brella || Such an upgrade over the other Tenta Brellas! Ink Mine not only tracks intruding opponents, but also softens them up, making them easier to finish in one shot. Ultra Stamp lets one switch gears, suddenly increasing damage output and mobility.
| S3 || Slosher || If it wasn't clear by now, I am pretty much a Slosher main. Fizzy Bomb provides mobility and poke damage. Tacticooler brings team support, and also makes you crazy fast. It feels a bit like the S1 kit, but for the modern era.
|-
|-
| S2 || Roller || I've always had a soft spot for the Splat Roller, but the Kensa kit is what really sold the weapon for me. It is possibly the most unique weapon with the Bubble Blower, since it excels at using them in close combat. Combined with the Splat Bombs, it really makes for some devastating bubbles!
| S3 || Brush || With S3, there is finally a new brush, and it is plenty of fun to use! Curling Bomb and Wave Breaker is an odd combination, and certainly so on a brush. But it works on the Painbrush, with Curling providing mobility for a pretty ink hungry weapon, and Wave Breaker offering a lot of utility.
|-
|-
| S2 || Brella || The Splat Brella is a very fun weapon to use, and the regular kit is pretty well-rounded for a defensive weapon. The point-blank shot and canopy 2HKO combo is very satisfying when you can pull it off.
| S3 || Splatling || Giving Hydra Splatling the Booyah Bomb was a good call for S3. Booyah Bomb makes it less vulnerable if someone gets too close for comfort, and can be used to challenge opposing Chargers who would bully it all the time otherwise. Hydra has had mostly support specials in the series so far, so having a more proactive special is good IMO. Autobombs still feel meh on the weapon, but they are cheap at least, which is good.
|-
|-
| S2 || Roller || Aah, the Flingza. Giving any Roller a Splash Wall might seem to be lunacy, but just like the CoroCoro Splat Roller in S, focus on using the Splash Wall NOT for yourself. Give it to a teammate. Obstruct exit and entry points on the map. Or simply use it as bait. Basically, I use it as a tool to help with sharking.
| S3 || Splatana || I really liked the Beakon / Tenta Missiles on the S2 Octobrush Nouveau, and it is an even better fit on Wiper Deco. It wants to get up close like the Octobrush, but also has more range and modes of approach to work with.
|-
|-
| S2 || Splatling || I was initially very confused on how to use the Ballpoint, but it has eventually become my favorite Splatling to use. The Nouveau has a kit that's very fitting for a long-range Splatling.
| S3 || Roller || Aah, the Flingza. Getting the Ink Mine was probably a downgrade compared to the Suction Bomb of the S2 Foil kit. But I really like Mine on the Flingza, for some reason. Tenta Missiles are still Tenta Missiles, it works nicely with it to make opponents move and then take advantage of the confusion.
|-
|-
| S2 || Slosher || Possibly the most bonkers weapon in the game. It is a fun weapon to use, less fun to go against. I really wish it would have kept the Fizzy Bomb like it had before release, but that would have probably made it even more bonkers.
| S3 || Splatling || Very solid kit for the vanilla in S3. Sprinkler is still meh, but Wave Breaker feels really good with it.
|-
|-
| S2 || Shooter || One of the few shooters that I may feel like using. I can't exactly pin down what I like about it in particular, other than that I like to use the kit.
| S3 || Roller || To be honest, I was not really fond of the Carbon Roller in S1. Probably the best roller, but I never really got the hang of it. However, with the changes to Rollers in S2, and the introduction of squid rolls in S3; Burst Bomb / Trizooka feels really good with it.

|-
|-
| S2 || Roller || The Nouveau kit is very fun to use, jumping around the map and launching missiles from different vantage points. But since it has Beakons, it lacks something to help it out in combat, making it very reliant on surprise splats.
| S3 || Brush || The vanilla kit is very fun to use, jumping around the map with the Zipcaster and attacking opponents from different vantage points.
|-
|-
| S2 || Slosher || When it was announced, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Sloshing Machine got a third kit, since I really didn't expect it. The Fizzy Bomb goes well with the main weapon, but I wish it had any other special than the Splashdown.
| S3 || Roller || I've always had a soft spot for the Splat Roller. I am glad that it got a support special in S3, since Splat Roller kits tend to be aggressive, close range ones. Still the best weapon for the Curling Bomb too.
|-
|-
| S2 || Roller || I may use the Kensa kit more nowadays rather than the Gold kit, but the Gold Dynamo is by no means bad. It trades a bit of turf control for team support, and is good to use for pushes.
| S3 || Dualie || Very good kit all around, and pretty versatile. I don't think it is the weapon that gets the most value out of either the Splat Bomb or the Wave Breaker, but neither are suboptimal for it either. Splat Bomb is a bit costly for it, but that's it really.
|-
|-
| S2 || Splatling || Oh gods, I really didn't like the Heavy Splatling when I first got it in S2. A kit that makes it easy to get a special I don't want to use? However, after the Sting Ray got retooled a few times, it definitely turned into a force to be reckoned with. Very good in both RM and TC.
| S3 || Blaster || I've never liked Blasters that much other than the S1 Luna Neo really, and certainly not the Rapid Blaster Pro. They have been such snoozefests IMO. But something with RBPD in S3 just clicks. Probably because the entire kit is based on poke damage, acting as a long-range support for your team.
|-
|-
| S2 || Slosher || Aah, the regular, standard Slosher. Its kit as a whole is a bit too slow, but I have always loved unique aspects of the main weapon (in particular the whip-like fling).
| S3 || Dualie || Tetra Dualies having Zipcaster as a special is very fun, but nothing stellar. Sprinkler is Sprinkler, but since I want to plan out when to activate my Zipcaster, having it ready more quickly is usually not my main concern.
|-
| S3 || Splatana || I really like the main weapon, but despite the kit seeming good in theory, it never really fully clicks for me.

Hiya! My name is Malin, I am a 31 yo woman from Sweden and also a certified Splatoon Fan Girl :V

I mostly do edits on weapon pages, keeping templates and tables up to date. I'm also one of Inkipedia's long-standing Patrollers, though not the most active one. Personally interested in the different weapon brands (official names, nintendo?? please it has been 8 years).

I'm also an editor on Bulbapedia. I'm AmbientDinosaur there too.

Maybe one of these days I will come around to make a proper user page. Maybe. Eventually. Perhaps. Don't count on it.
