Rock vs. Paper vs. Scissors Was a Splatfest event in Splatoon 3. It was announced on 10 August 2022 and will last for twelve hours, beginning at different times depending on the player's region:
- 27 August 2022 at 08:00 UTC (9 a.m. BST) – Europe
- 27 August 2022 at 16:00 UTC (9 a.m. PDT) – Americas
- 28 August 2022 at 00:00 UTC (9 a.m. JST) – Asia-Pacific
The event could be accessed by downloading the Splatoon 3 Splatfest World Premiere from the Nintendo eShop.
Details
The Splatoon 3 Splatfest World Premiere is a free demo that only allows players to play the Splatoon 3 tutorial, walk around Splatsville, and participate in the Splatfest. It was playable from 25 August 2022, but players cannot participate in the Splatfest until 27 August 2022.
Stage Rotations
Before the Splatfest began in Europe, the stage rotations displayed Scorch Gorge and Eeltail Alley globally. Afterwards, the rotations in every region are as follows;
Tricolor Turf War did not rotate during the duration of this Splatfest, instead staying on Sturgeon Shipyard.
Halftime Report
At the halfway point in the Splatfest, Deep Cut reveals the team currently with the most Clout. This will determine which team starts in the centre of the stage during Tricolor Turf Wars.
Each region has a different Halftime Report due to the Splatfest's start times differing depending on the region.

- Rock vs. Paper vs. Scissors, as well as the Splatfests of the Splatoon 2 Splatfest World Premiere (Cake vs. Ice Cream and Rock vs. Pop), are the only Splatfests to last less than 24 hours.
- However, it is only the third shortest Splatfest in the series, lasting for twelve hours instead of the previous Splatfests' four hours.
- This is the first Splatfest to feature three teams instead of two.
- This is the first global Splatfest in which Europe can participate first.
- Japan started first in Pokémon Red vs. Pokémon Blue/Green, Mayo vs. Ketchup (2017), Trick vs. Treat (2018), Fam vs. Friend, and Hare vs. Tortoise.
- North America and Oceania started first in Action vs. Comedy, Squid vs. Octopus (2018), Hero vs. Villain, and Knight vs. Wizard.
- All regions started simultaneously in Fancy Party vs. Costume Party, Callie vs. Marie, Chaos vs. Order, Mayo vs. Ketchup (2020), Chicken vs. Egg (2020), Trick vs. Treat (2020), and Super Mushroom vs. Super Star.
