The North-Country Parka is a piece of clothing in the Splatoon series.

It is a 3-star item produced by Grizzco and comes with a random primary ability generated when it is received. It is only available as a reward from Salmon Run as the monthly gear or in a Pink Capsule. It cannot be ordered from another player.

Appearance

The North-Country Parka is a navy, long-sleeved collared parka with a burgundy turtleneck underneath. It has four square pockets on the front. Above each of the top-most pockets is Inkling language writing in small lettering, the writing on one side resembling Japanese, and the other resembling English. There is a zapfish on the back of the parka, with more Inkling writing underneath it.

Abilities

The North-Country Parka comes with a random primary ability that can also appear as secondary abilities, which prevents the wearer from having Ability Doubler, Haunt, Ninja Squid, Respawn Punisher, or Thermal Ink as they are exclusive to Clothing and cannot appear as secondary abilities. This primary ability is assigned randomly when the item is received. As a 3-star item, the North-Country Parka comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. Since it is made by the Grizzco gear brand, it has equal chances to roll any secondary ability.

Trivia

  • The writing that resembles English on the parka appears to say "Since 1987". This references the Japanese name of the gear. The writing that resembles Japanese appears to say "なまズ工業" Namazu Kōgyō, Catfish Industry, likely referencing the Zapfish on the back.
  • The Japanese name of this gear is a parody of the Japanese TV drama, "Kita no Kuni Kara" (From the northern country). This gear resembles the parka the main character of the drama was wearing.
