Last-Ditch Effort has an Ink Saver (Main), Ink Saver (Sub), Ink Recovery Up and Quick Respawn effect for the last thirty seconds of battle. In Ranked Battles, it will start when the opposing team scores 50 points, but the effect will be much weaker. The effect will continue to grow until the opposing team scores 70 points. Last Ditch Effort is restricted to headgear as a main ability.
The player is much less likely to run out of ink, ideal for making aggressive last-second pushes. Last-Ditch Effort is especially useful for getting an advantage in ranked battles where overtime is expected, as the effect of this ability lasts the whole overtime duration or when the opposing team has thirty seconds or less before winning.
This ability is found as the main ability only on headgear, so other abilities found only on headgear are mutually exclusive with it; in other words, players cannot have them together. These abilities are Comeback, Opening Gambit, and Tenacity.
Splatoon
As of Version 2.6.0, the ability also decreases respawn time when active. In Ranked Battles, Last-Ditch Effort will also be applied during Overtime, or if the other team's counter is 30 or less.
The ability is active when the time renaming is thirty seconds or less (as indicated by the timer), and/or game is in overtime, and/or the opposing team's counter is 30 or less.
The ability is active when the opposing team's counter is 50 or less.
The ability is active and has maximum effect when the time renaming is thirty seconds or less (as indicated by the timer), and/or game is in overtime, and/or the opposing team's counter is 30 or less.
▲ During its active period, the effect of Last-Ditch Effort is now multiplied by 2.4 times the number of times it is equipped as a main gear ability (was previously multiplied by 1.8).
▲ When playing a Ranked Battle match, in addition to the benefits it previously provided, Last-Ditch Effort's benefits will improve when the opposing team's counter is 50 or below, and continue to improve gradually as the counter continues to decrease.
This benefit will max out once the counter has reached 30.
There are no changes to the benefits this gear ability provides in Turf War matches.
